So, this is my project for a Rakdos aggro-burn build to be played in Standard (the 2-mana human who has absolutely nothing to do with the deck's theme is actually a stand-in for Rix Maadi Reveler, who for some reason isn't in the deckbuilder yet). So my question is: what do I remove in order to make room for this sexy lady?
imo Risk Factor or Light up the stage. You need to cut a 3cmc so your curve doesn't become wonky and they both do more or less the same thing, idk if you need that much redundancy.
Edit: Actually, the trip red cost on chainwhailer is a dealbreaker for me. Id cut him
*Real* Rakdos players will point Judith's damage at *themselves*.
Why haven't they printed Rakdos Ascendancy except it pings any target for 1BR and adds a pain counter for every 1 damage dealt to you by a source you control yet?
Because there isn't an Ascendancy cycle in this set. If there had been an Ascendancy cycle, it would have been a 10-card cycle and we'd have 5 of them already from Guilds of Ravnica. There is no way that R&D extended an already-known cycle (the Ascendancies from Tarkir) to Ravnica and didn't do all ten.
And... there is a lot of negative issues with that. E.g., this card basically prevents a future Ascendancy cycle with the guilds because the Simic one would have that name. Which would rather imply that the guilds are dying or changing their names with Bolas's arrival... ne?
Making tokens, chump blocking, swarming with small creatures to mentor and the likes are all popular strategies in my meta. Chainwhirler is kind of a necessity
You know what, looking at your mana base, you will probably be ok. I would be tempted to drop those last 2 swamps though. But if you do that, hopefully the firewheeler won't be starved for a second black. Even with the 2 extra swamps, idk if you have enough black for him. I would suggest choosing between the Chainwhirler and the flamewheeler.
really like the ability too, though i feel b/r already has all the tools to excel at that so she's kind of overkill to an established strategy.
I prefer her over something like Lyzolda or Tymaret just because she is much less mana hungry
yeah. that i can agree with. years ago i had a lyzolda build that does exactly what judith's deck wants to do. i've wanted to rebuild it for years but always felt how mana hungry it was would keep it from being anything but kitchen table fodder. i'll be building judith... but damn black/red sure do have a lot of her effect now.
In other words, she wants her folks to attack and die hard. Unearth works nicely with her as well as Whip of Erebos. Give Judith deathtouch and her 1 damage would kill instantly. Either let my creatures through, or die in my hand by blocking them.
I really like this card, even though I am not a big fan of Rakdos.
One of her biggest upsides is her ability to abuse her Legendary status. Subsequent Judiths are two damage divided among two targets for three mana. While that isn't a great deal, it's better than a dead card -- especially in aggressive decks.
It's also synergistic with Rakdos (enabling Spectacle), Gruul (encouraging aggression), and Orzhov (encouraging aristocrats-style interaction) mechanics.
It's still early, but Ravnica Allegiance looks much more interesting than Guilds to me.

I agree. I'm also considering her synergy with Lyzolda, who I believe is a better sac-engine than the knife. Can't wait to see them pair up in the Guild Kit, not to mention my personal sacrifice deck

Because fans are probably going to start bugging Maro for a Guild Ascendancy cycle, we'll probably see more Guild Ascendancies in Commander and other products a few years from now.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Just give her infect.
God I hate infect.
