So I wonder if it'll be 10 only of Addendum and maybe a returning mechanic or some surprise meant by "not exceeding 10" because there would be a ton of space left to fill for the Azorius.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
Is that unusual? Only 9 cards in RTR had Detain (another two in DGM). I though 8 to 12 cards per mechanic per set was pretty much status quo. Jump-Start appears on 10 cards.

Yup.
Guild mechanics can't take up a lot of space by their pure nature.
Yeah Addendum's strength is based on two things how good is the card without using the ability and how strong the addendum ability is when used.
Ergo Sphinx's Insight has pay 4 to draw 2 which is a good rate for standard drawing two cards these days. But the extra part is quite honestly straight trash. 2 Life? 2 Life ain't worth **** maybe if it said 4 life I care. No reason to play over Chemister's Insight in my book which has Jump Start and so can be recast for 4 cmc and a discard. That is way better then being forced to play during Main Phase for a measly two life.
“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
I mean yes if you only have 4 mana you would be correct even without using Addendum cause I rate 2 Cards drawn over 1 Card and 1 Life. But Revelation scales and oh boy I get hard just thinking about pumping in lots of mana with a Teferi Emblem to just end the game.
But that is mostly my problem with especially this set of Ravnica. Stuff you have seen before but weaker.
I don't know why people thought Dovin didn't know who he was working for. He didn't fake it for Vraska so why would he bother with Dovin? Bolas doesn't usually fake it to walkers, he did with Venser but that is more cause Teferi and Jhoira were around and they know who he is and vice versa so he had a very good reason.
I knew they turn Dovin full on villain though he was mean to Chandra and the Gatewatch so evil piece of **** and deserves his fate. No shades of grey allowed unless said characters wants to sleep with a Gatewatcher then its free passes for Lili and Vraska.
As for Isperia I thought Vraska did it just because she hates Sphinxes. The execution of the plan would be more interesting to me lol. I mean Dovin is not strong enough to do it himself so I guess he lures Isperia into ambush but seems dumb Isperia would go herself.
Its also weird that its called Riot given that the word is already tied to Rakdos (Lord of Riots).
Other people can riot, too.
And yet another Gruul mechanic that could have been Rakdos. Do the Rakdos always get first dibs and leave the Gruul to take their unwanted leftovers?
Joking aside, Riot does make sense for the Gruul flavorwise as they tend to be the angriest guild due to injustice comitted against them and to the natural habitats they once were in charge of watching. The city expanded, the Gruul's rights were taken away, their domain was trodden upon, now they're pissed off and want to take the whole city down in revenge. Street Riot sums it up perfectly, really.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Blech... Addendum looks like the kind of mechanic that can only produce two kinds of cards - ones which are not worth casting on your turn even for the addendum, and ones which are simply so much better with addendum that they might as well be sorceries.
I could be wrong, but it's impossible to tell what it's going to play out like. It might turn out to be interesting with Mentor, because mentor often requires you to do stuff before you attack to set it up.

"Masques Block is the worst block ever! There's not one decent card in there! The whole internet say's so, you're literally the only person who ever said it was good!" - random noob in a conversation with an Eldrazi.
Hmm instead of life gain how about something lets call it shield. Not sure whether to allow instants or soceries to penetrate but shield would work like this damage has to exceed the shield value to actually hurt you. So you have Shield or Barrier 3 that means until your next turn your opponent has to deal more then three damage to get past the shield so if one creature is 2/2 and the other is a 4/4 then you take no damage 2/2 and the 1 damage from the 4/4.
Hmm, very disappointed with Addendum. It's totally opposite of what a control player wants to do. I'll wait and see the full set before getting too sad about it, but man.... pretty lame mechanic.
I told you bro yesterday. MARO flat out said we did are best to keep Teferi down despite that rule never applying to other powerful walkers but now control must be kept down. Look if WOTC doesn't like control fine but then they need to stop wimping out and fully rebalance color pie so every color gets better creatures.
Isn´t Addendum really bad as it limits your playstyle? Instants are nice to cast to disrupt your enemy but suddenly you have to cast it in the right phase to get an extra effect.
On the other hand it might be like the Riot mechanic in the sense that you play cards with Addendum. depening on how the battlefield looks like. Is it better to interrupt the opponent in his turn or should you wait until your own main phase and get an extra effect?
I don´t know
It gives more options and therefore is a perfect fit for control. Netdeckers will surely crap all over the mechanic since they need to be told what to play and when to play it. Everybody else will see it for what it is: a good reward to those who plan ahead and can adapt to a fluid game where momentum shifts contiuously.
2 Life is not an award worth celebrating.
And as for the other card the main use for that in my book is to accelerate finishing a foe off with a Teferi Emblem.

I really hate Addendum, not because the cards are necessariely bad, we'll have to wait for more spoilers to evaluate that, I just think it's a terrible idea to give a control player additional effects for doing stuff on his own turn. Gaining two life isn't worth not being able to counter your opponent's spells

Also netdeckers is meant to be the kind of people who thought Jace, Vryn's Prodigy was terrible because it didn't look broken. Once it made on to winning deck lists the change their tune (and delete their old posts)

I'll still wait and check the full set before getting too sad, but man I miss my pre rotation Esper Control deck
Emergency Powers is the most "fun" WU card I've seen in a while;
Being an instant speed Timetwister (which is *incredibly* rare) could make it semi-playable.
EDIT: I didn't realize this is actually literally the *first* Instant Timetwister-
that makes it very tough to evaluate. It could end up being amazing.

Well, at 7 Mana I can’t see it being completely busted, but I agree that it will be hard to evaluate. I think there really needs to be a way to break symmetry on your main phase for it to be a serious player, making it effective in both modes.
I mean first you need something worth 7 CMC or less that you want to slam but you might whiff cause you draw a new seven...I mean they main use to my mind is to speed up a Teferi Emblem Finish.

You really don't need to break the symmetry for a Timetwister to be good. You know it's in your deck, that's all you need.

Teferi, Hero of Dominaria is pretty busted. Definitely a problem card in Standard.

But that is mostly my problem with especially this set of Ravnica. Stuff you have seen before but weaker.
Oh and im pretty sure guys did see it but all failing to notice the flavor text of sphinx’s insight
Basicly it’s reveals Isperia knows dovin is working with bolas and what the plan was which may be the key to why she was murdered to begin with
And dovin knew he was working for bolas
Dovin was a bolas pawn the whole time
