Etrata, the Silencer2UB
Legendary Creature - Vampire Assassin (R)
Etrata, the Silencer can't be blocked.
Whenever Etrata deals combat damage to a player, exile target creature that player controls and put a hit counter on that card. That player loses the game if they own three or more exiled cards with hit counters on them. Etrata's owner shuffles Etrata into their library.

I'm always hyped for some alternate win conditions, but this is a strange one. I suppose this is one legend you don't mind drawing multiple copies of, since you can drop the next as soon as the first shuffles.
I like how she can play with Surveil without calling it out.

Interesting. Despite being previewed as a commander card, Etrata might actually work better in constructed. The shuffle and not caring about where the hit counters came from makes running four copies of her easy to justify. Sure, EDH might allow you to grab your commander again for another go, but the command tax makes it hard to take out multiple opponents with the ability without Helm of the Host.
If there’s one thing I’m learning about his set ahead of the prerelease, it’s that you better save your choice removal for their bomb - because there are a lot of them.
I don't think she'd work with double strike, since after the first strike she gets shuffled into her owner's library. Or isn't she removed from combat?

I don't think she'll be very useful in Commander at all, really. As a commander she's not good and as a single card in your deck she's basically useless.
With the current wording, how does that work if you exile a card owned by another player but controlled but the player hit by Etrata?
It's a single trigger, you can keep exiling someone's creatures from other boards, and they'll never die to this effect. But it will lower their personal clock (You hit Player A twice, but exile a creature owned by Player B each time. The first time you hit Player B and exile one of their creatures they lose).
OK I change my answer to Helm of the Host. I didn't realize the effect was on the first hit, thought it only happened after the 3rd hit counter. I had a feeling if I was wrong I would find out quickly and at least with 3-5 posts saying as much!

TBF as a Commander, she’s going to play with all of those people that want to play convoluted WinCons. I’m picturing running Self-Bouncing effects, and cards like Vanishing. Granted, she’s going to put a huge target on your head in certain groups as you exile their best creature, and put them 1/3 closer to losing the game. With all that being said, Wizards has been doing an excellent job with unique and playable Dimir Commanders lately Yuriko, the new Lazav, and now this.

To me this just seems like a clunky and expensive removal spell. Your opponent will probably die from Doom Whisperer beats long before the three "hits".

Vanishing won't get you 'hits' either. That ability is very specifically deigned to be all in one you can't even Stifle the shuffle and still keep your 'hit'
Etrata isn't an Academy Rector-like effect though. There's nothing in Etrata that states that Etrata must be shuffled in the deck for the ability to resolve. As long as the ability isn't countered, removing her from the field should have the remainder of the ability resolve as normal.

Seriously, though, that is a very interesting card; I suppose we could always find Etrata with Forerunner of the Coalition.

This card is for sure the kind of creature i just hate to see at the table and winning with it has the bad feeling of being cheap and dirty.
Its pushed in every way imaginable, and still feels BAD for constructed outside of standard.

Also seems like she would fall apart against a deck not designed to play creatures.
