Etrata can hit, her trigger goes on the stack, then you bounce/phase/flicker her out of existence. Etrata's effect still happens but the last line has nothing to work with. She gone. Unless we get a really bogus no-fun ruling to prevent that.
What a strange card. In Constructed, three hits with this card is half that player's life total anyway. By the time I manage to cast, attack, and exile three separate creatures with these, my opponent had probably lost regardless.

Its slow, its costly, you have to jump through hoops to really make it be anything more than delayed and fragile removal.
You'll never be able to get someone to lose on its conditions. As a commander its tax and slowness make it impractical to swing with repeatedly. In standard its slow and crap without running several in the deck. Its unplayable anywhere but the kitchen table. Even there itll be a card someone loves and tries to make work every single time, but never admits it doesnt.

A+ disappointment.
Let's call the ability a 'mercy rule'. You might not work with the three hits often, but it's inevitability. She's got a healthy backend for blocking, can get in some damage, and is evasive. She's fine.
Wait... in commander, since it is a serperate sentence, can't she be sent to the command zone? As the getting shuffling clause is after everything else has happened.

You can replace her being shuffled into the deck with sending her to the command zone. By this point the whole effect is resolving and everything else has already happened. (Combat damage, a creature exiled, a hit counter added, etc.)

I don't think that's the main concept of this card and how it works in a game. This is a crazy "must deal with" type card that will force the opponent to have answers for. All the while you work in another crazy combo/strategy to beat them. A fantastic "take your eye off the ball" strategy card, I like it.
Even though this card looks unplayable on the surface lets be fair. This is easily the coolest card spoiled so far. Again, I realize it's likely just bad, but reading it was really exciting and the flavor is off the charts. Yes connecting with her 3 times is likely no different than (insert favorite wincon here) but come on, this is like, triple the style points. Also, don't be surprised if this does show up in standard in a BUG midrange deck. Those colors have a lot of powerful threats that you have to get rid of or avoid and this one can end up as just a fine 2-of that can might win it all sometimes.

And on that day, Garfield said unto the world "Go ye forth and durdle!"
Well, she might see some play in standard. She is not the best creature ever, but is a good blocker, could be good anti agro and anti non green midrange tech.
It's possible to respond towards the combat trigger by returning Etrata back to owner's hand with Crystal Shard effect, thus negate the drawback of Etrata while continues with the exile effect. This card has potential in Standard 60 card decks.
I mean, sometimes you just wanna kill someone dead.
And in commander blue and black are arguably the best tutor colors, so very easy to assemble the pieces with maybe a crystal shard or some other repeatable bounce to avoid the commander tax.
Basically Etrata in a UB-Artifacts deck is going to be silly.
Most of your tools to get Etrata out of trouble can be tutored, there are a lot of tools to do this. You can just run a bunch of artifact tools and just run wild.
Because, fundamentally, it's a preposterous AWC Johnny card, and those cards are always more fun when they are bad. Taking a steaming pile of pewp and winning with it is The Johnny Way. The worse it is, the more fun it is to win with it. When it's still kinda playable, as this card is, it doesn't really feel like you've committed a coup when you get that third hit counter.
I don't really understand who this card is for. Somebody who wants to show off how quickly and deeply they can surveil for copies of this card? Might be fun for a game or two, but surveil lends itself to fishing out so many other Johnny combos, I can't see this card headlining that kind of deck for too long. The whole affair just feels odd and unfortunate. Disappointed.

You mean Legion, right?
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)

Yes, I meant to put Forerunner of the Legion.

Sorry for double post... Cannot delete.

I would like to see a better Mirko Vosk but i can hope and wait to see hin in the third set.
But anyway, good card, some possibility to be abused, me like.

Seriously. I wish it was worse.

Alternatively, turn Etrata into an artifact, then copy the triggered ability with Tawnos, Urza's Apprentice.
