He's better than some of the other guild leaders we have seen. Two mana is very cheap, meaning he can be used early. I think he is constructed playable.
Nice casual build around, because you don't want to fill your competitive deck with jank you can't cast due to their drawbacks.
PS: let's make a list of creatures with keyword with CMC 0. Any has hexproof?
Edit: meh, nothing good except flying and a 0/6 wall. I guess it'll have to be 1 CMC. There you can get pretty much any keyword: flying hexproof, first-strike, unblockable, infect...

Interesting that this doesn't exile the copied card. Is there any use in becoming a copy of the same card over and over again? I can't think of any off the top of my head, but my gears are turning nonetheless.

Works well in Standard with Traxos, Scourge of Kroog. Casting it untaps Traxos and allows you to surveil for more Historic permanents, while also being able to copy Traxos for a relatively small amount of mana.
Only Drawback for me here is that he xan only target dudes from your own graveyard, and I so wish he could target guys from your opponents'. It would fit better thematically imo as well as with mill strategies.
My nitpicking aside, I am excited to make a fun toolbox deck with it as my commander.
This seems like a mostly worse Dimir Doppelganger with slightly better stats and for slightly cheaper CMC. Doppelganger’s ability costs 3 for any creature in any graveyard, at the cost of exiling the card, shich may or may not be a good thing. Dimir Doppelganger costs $1 in paper.
This may see some play in Standard, but I don’t think this card is very good. I think people are overhyping this card for EDH especially.
**** it, I'll do it. Here's an attachment for the image, for everyone who uses a smart phone and might want to actually view the card in its entirety. You're welcome.
Didn't see the OP had a spoiler for mobile. Excuse my exasperation.
Aw, man! Super disappointed that he sucks in my Lazav tribal Clone deck (literally all clone and copy effects with no win condition but what my opponents play). The fact that he can only clone stuff in my graveyard means I'd just get a 0/0 usually. I'll certainly find other decks to slot him into and have fun with his ability; I was just hoping to enhance the clone deck.
In some aspects, this is actually superior to Lazav, Dimir Mastermind. 2 less power for 2 less cost, hexproof traded for surveil, a repeatable activatable ability instead of a triggered do-or-don't one.
Note that unlike Varolz, you can't just slam anything because Lazav copies the abilities of his targets - so cards like Death's Shadow, Force of Savagery, and Phylactery Lich, which are all-stars of Varolz, are awful for Lazav as he'll likely instantly die. I'd also say stuff with variable power (Tarmogoyf, Boneyard Wurm, Lord of Extinction, Revenant, Sewer Nemesis) are less good since for Varolz you get the counters but here you get the ability, meaning Lazav can die to graveyard hate.
at the cost of exiling the card, shich may or may not be a good thing.
Really? You don’t know if exiling the card is worse than not exiling? You might strain something if you reach any further on this one.
The card itself, it’s good. Generic mana vs. colored is an upgrade, even if you are paying full price. This was designed more with the “slip a deadly utility unit into the red zone” rather than “copy the biggest fatty”, which I find way more intriguing. It’s a build around card, but it’s a powerful build around at that.

It’s a good thing if it’s the opponent’s card. It’s a bad thing if it’s your card. Hence it may or may not be a good thing. Lazav doesn’t even give the option to use cards in an opponent’s graveyard.
Yep this is good. Hilariously, we have a casual EDH player in our group that loves Lazav and he'll definitely also want a copy. Putting my copy into Aminatou.

Could be some combination of creatures that tap for an ability coupled with some that untap for an ability, maybe?
- Nyxathid (no opponent chosen, so it's just +6/+4 for 1BB...not amazing, but not awful)
I was thinking about cards like this, because a few have already been mentioned, but does Lazav, the Multifarious get that second ability? The card reads that Nyxathid gets that effect, but since Lazav doesn't take on the name Nyxathid does it even do anything, even if you could name an opponent?
I would build a deck around him, easily.

1 mana for a 1-drop unblockable creature (Tormented Soul as an example), another 1 mana after blockers declared to become Dreadnought.
I can see the weenie Dimir deck built around this Lazav in EDH just for the array of abilities he can gain at instant speed.

The pro is that Lazav can turn on a dime and utilize powerful abilities to sneak past blockers or fizzle removal - stuff like Slither Blade, Ornithoper, Vault Skirge, Invisible Stalker, Darksteel Myr, Shield Sphere, Circling Vultures, and Looter il-Kor are all very interesting.
