So a small Primordial Sage. I guess. Man are they trying to make Mono G a thing. Would you even play this in that deck?

Bonkers. Competitive cost. Triggers on cast no resolution. Meaningful creature type.

Its tempting to jam this in decks that arent just mono-g elves. Speaking from an edh perspective its not uncommon to poop out a creature every single turn, mix in elves and its play deck

This is totally going in my Animorphs deck.

Oh man, if only they had made this a 1/1 at like 1G or even GG, it might have even been viable for Legacy elves.

I do think on cast is the right move. Even though the card costs 4, Collected Company would have loved to get a 4 for 1 from this guy.

Edit: lowering his cost from 4 would have been a huge mistake as well.

Exactly what I was going to say. That deck always runs out of cards, and this is great. It's even a Druid for Gilt-Leaf Archdruid shenanigans.

Same. Not sure yet what it will replace - maybe one of the 6-drops with similar abilities.

Surprisingly meh about this. Would rather have had it be G for a 0/1 or G1 for 1/2 or 2G for a 2/1 or something, at 4 mana you're going to need 6-10 mana available from other elves and/or lands to get going. Should do fine somewhere though.

In any green deck this comes out turn three easily. Maybe playable in elves?

This card is insane in that it's the lowest cost we've ever gotten this effect for. Four mana is probably still too much to see serious play in Legacy or Modern, but it has a real shot at Standard and is going to be near auto-include for Brawl and Commander. I can't believe we got a relevant tribe for it, and that is its sole saving grace for older formats; despite costing 4 instead of Glimpse of Nature's one, I can see it in Elves.

I find it amusing that the artifact version of this card is a 0/2 for the same relative cost. (Vedalken Archmage)

Won't see competitive play. C'mon now guys we've seen cards like these for so long, hyped, only for them to fall by the wayside. 4cmc is indeed too much.

Great for casuals like me. IMO an upgrade over Primordial Sage.

Definitely viable as a one of in modern elves if you run cord. If you have already deployed your team you grab Ezuri and if not you grab this and go off elfball style. Being an elf is meaningful as with a lord out it dodges bolt and it also can tap to heritage druid making it often only cost an effective 3. Not bad. It could see standard play but I am less hopeful about that. Not being able to grab it eot with chord makes it a lot harder to get value out of it.

I'll be first in line at my LGS to snipe a foil, should replace either Garruk's Packleader or Soul of the Harvest in my Animar deck.

This guy looks like obsolete tech, it doesn't do anything when etb and dies to Lightning Strike. At this rate is it really better than Poison-Tip Archer or Sumala Woodshaper ?
Even in an elf deck, it might be better to run a non-elf creature in the 4cmc slot, like Ferox, Mare or Ripjaw. i'm not buying it.

I believe the last time a similar card worked, it was in Theros Standard in the GB enchantment deck, with Doomwake Giant and such.
