That's not understandable at all. Maybe if you need them week 1, but when was the last time a non-mythic settled at that high of a price? It's going to be a $10 card a few weeks into the set, if that.

That escalated quickly! When I first checked it was $17.99. That was like an hour ago.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Holy ***** what a card. This is going to push GBx right back to the front in modern imo. A clean answer to everything is bonkers. A 2 mana instant speed answer to teferi/jace will hit UW when they tap out for them. Great away to deal with tron lands and also just general removal for creatures, enchantments and so on. Giving a basic is obviously downside but everyone will happily trade a basic for removal of a planeswalker or stopping tron, downgrading a celestial colonnade to a basic and so on.
The high price of this card demonstrates more than ever why the Masterpieces needed to be in the boosters of the set, rather than just some prepackaged whale lure from Hasbro direct. The card would have struggled to exceed $6 for years. Now it could easily stay at or above ~$20 during it's time in Standard, and could get even higher in the years after the set rotates.
I know that no rares have gotten that high for awhile, but this is one of the best -- if not THE best removal spell ever printed. Instant-speed, destroys anything for BG. The land consolation prize may not even matter to many decks that play very few basics in older formats. The card will be played in all formats until better removal is printed -- which may be never.
Isnt Standard Red and Blue/White right now? BG sure as heck isnt a Modern powerhouse anymore. This is strong.
Powerhouse or not, instant speed destroy -ANY- permanent, including lands and 4CMC+ permanents, for 2 mana is absurd. I know (fair) BGx has problems in Modern, but such a card is a terrible mistake. I'm going out on a limp and say Deathrite levels of a mistake.
I think it's a mistake, but definitely not deathrite level. It's only as good as your opponents best permanent. On top of that it cost both black and green not either or. That is a huge difference. Drs manafixed you when so you could always play color intensive spells. This requires you already have your colors so you can't jam it in every deck. On top of that it hits only once. It's just a 1 for 1 so it won't hate out entire archetypes. For example It hits kci but is pretty ineffective vs most combo decks in modern (except tron) so it doesn't shore up many matchups for jund. More importantly though. It is going to be meta warping in standard. Instant speed 2 mana kill your 5 drop is going to force every thing to either be smaller or have a powerful etb. It punishes having a late game and investing in intersting plays. Atleast it will help with the tefari problem.

Seriously, it’s so boring as this point. It’s an enemy pairing, there’s absolutely no reason for their to be a higher abundance of quality G/b cards than literally any other pairing literally every single multicolor set.
I think it's a mistake, but definitely not deathrite level.
Correct, and comparisons between this and DRS are inapt. DRS stayed on the board and was oppressive early game as well as late game. It also packed incidental graveyard hate that made GY strategies in many formats very difficult to execute.
Also, this is removal. By playing this, you do not advance your board state; you only diminish your opponent's. In other words, you don't bring yourself any closer to winning the game, you just stop your opponent from advancing toward that end. This won't get banned. This is just the really good answer card that many players have been asking for.
Those buying it now... It's about a third of a booster box.... If that's not enough perspective... LOL I wager you could get about 2 on average... So why not get 2 boxes instead.

You wager you can get two of a specific rare, on average, per booster box?
Uh, no?
In a set with 53 distinct rares and 15 mythics you don't get any specific rare on average twice per box. That's not how math works.
Unless the art direction was improbably off this is Azor, not Isperia.
The latest art for Isperia has the large circular object on the forehead and the extremely flat rectangular-like nose in common with the trophy. Azor has a prominent beard that this would be lacking (at least the parts close to the nose would be expected to be visible). As far as art direction goes, this looks closer to Isperia than Azor.
Azor hasn't been on Ravnica for a long while, so the power vacuum would at best be historical - and the storyline hints at a change in leadership in some guilds.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

Then again, since when is either Azor or Isperia larger than a town?
That's a bridge and tower in the foreground, with a long staircase leading up to it. Stunning art is stunning art, but seriously, she's bigger than a leviathan here.
Wizards wants to destroy you Delve.
Wizards wants to destroy you Tron.
Wizards wants to destroy planeswalker control.
Hollow One kind of cheat cards, etc.
Wizards just gave Green the strongest answer against obscenely powerful PERMANENTS... and an average, versatile one against everything Decay can handle...
Hey, it's a card that will be played in just about every format (of course, not pauper of 93/94), which is why this'll be a money card. Standard, Commander, Modern, Legacy, Brawl, Tiny Leaders, Vintage... this list goes on and on and on... This'll be $20 or more out the door, easy.
Yeah BGx sure was rocking the top tables the past 6 months! lol

Yeah, and if this set gets oppened as much as RTR shocklands will be like $3 now.
