I'm actually considering getting the Selesnya and Izzet decks for the basics and some of the singles. The Selesnya deck has a good number of cards I'd want anyway for the token EDH I'm going to build soon.
Frankly, I'm disappointed by the inclusion of the Karoo lands, it means we get 4 less awesome basics per deck!
Lots of goodies all around though, I'm pleased. Privileged Position was a big unexpected bonus in the deck that was already looking to be the best. This is one of the few places they could have printed Cyclonic Rift with impunity, but whatever; I'm still convinced that they think that card was a mistake, and that's why they don't want to print any more of it.
The Izzet list definitely could have been better imo. At least they could have stuck a Cyclonic Rift in the list for value.
The Boros list is pretty underwhelming too, though there's not much they could do to change that given Boros' card pool.
No arguments about cyclonic rift, actually. Could've been better that way. But I meant more broadly: what does izzet do? play this deck and find out.
Same for boros; however un-powerful, that is definitely a boros deck.
And then specifically... obviously its hard to satisfy everyone with 60 or fewer reprints, but of all the iconic cards from each pair that could've been in, I can't think of better choices than glare, shattering spree, privileged position, glimpse! helix! legion loyalist?! 14 reprinted legends with new card frame for EDH wet dreams!
I thought they would be a lot worse considering the history Wizards has with the word "iconic." But these lists are satisfying however you slice it.

Disappointed about the Karoos? What about the Gates? I'd take Karoos over Gates any day, especially considering we'll be getting a double dose of Gates in booster packs.

Oh, the Gates are disappointing too, but I was already resigned to them being in the decks, so it wasn't a new disappointment.
Weird that they'd go with Izoni and Etrata over Jarad and Lazav.
But I think I like this Izoni more than the regular one.
Jarad, at least, already got an alternate art in the Izzet vs. Golgari deck, and might not be popular enough to warrant yet another version like Niv Mizzet.
I defiantly gonna pick up the selesnya one, hope this do this idea with some planes in the future.

Precons should have 2x or probably 3x the value of msrp to make them worth to buy. When these things come out the value of the cards will drop and sometimes they just crush the value. The dimir deck might retain some value if Mission Briefing follows similar trend as Search for Azcanta but I doubt it.
Sales must have previously tanked for Wizards to suddenly stop being the grinch and actually print a pre-con with great value. Seeing the cards list, I assumed this was a $30+ product. This will put a much-needed cap on certain cards in the set and/or bring down some price on old cards. (shattering spree, I'm looking at you.)
The Golgari one got a bit downgrade in value now that deathrite shaman is banned pretty much in all relevant formats.
I have no idea how illakunsaa came up with those prices. They look wrong.
Edit: shattering spree is 15cnd$, how can izzet be worth 3 euros?

It seems likely that only the guild leaders will have new art.
