Saw in the wiki article that there are only 4 of each promo release... what's the use of even making the promos known. No one (outside of the 4 who own them) will use them. They are not aloud in any format (would your play group even allow them?).
Feels like another way for the select few to say "Na-na-na-na, looook what I have..." I dunno... can't wrap my mind around the notion of making them known.
This is like revealing the WotC employee bumper sticker that reads "My other card is a Lotus" be known (at least one can find the bumper sticker on EBay).

Is there any point to going to great lengths to keep these things secret? We live in the information age, in which everything remotely notable is going to end up on social media unless measures are put in place to prevent it from getting out. If this being known is the default, then what's the benefit of an NDA? That some randos on the internet are going to see a semi-official card that isn't legal in any format and get jealous? The world doesn't revolve around you and what you can or can't have.

Yeah I'm happy this isn't a real card. Eminence is a bad ability and should never return.
Eminence is a fun mechanic, and when properly balanced I'd love to see it return. I mean, really, is anyone going to feel upset about this card in commander?
Cool Name, Bear lord 1G
Creature - Human Bear (M)
Eminence - Whenever you cast a creature spell with no abilities, if ~ is on the battlefield or in your command zone, create a 2/2 green bear token. Grr....
2/2
This would reward you using creatures you would normally rarely use in commander, and yet is still rather underpowered.
It's also important that the Eminence commander has a good incentive to actually cast it every now and then. The Ur-Dragon, for example, is a massive beatstick and card advantage engine, so it's well designed. You want that ***** in play right now. This guy though? All you're getting for casting him is a crappy, tiny body, and the opportunity for someone to throw a Darksteel Mutation or somesuch on him. Nobody would ever cast this guy, and that's bad design.
Inala's eminence ability is the only one in C17 I remember anyone really complaining about. Even then it's not quite on the level of say, Oloro or Derevi.
This card though is fan-made levels of dumb design. What tribe is he even eminent over. Why does he even have that ability and not just be an activated ability that can be done from the command zone or the battlefield.
I'm sure that if you purposelly underpower your deck with no infinite or degenerate combo this could be genuinely very fun and exciting to play with and against. Of course it would be insta-banned anyway even if this was legal in any commander-variant format
Well, yes, but by that logic, Ancestral Recall is totally fair if you put it in a deck where it will only draw you bad cards. How a card functions in an underpowered deck is a really poor metric for measuring how busted a card is.
And power level aside, this is just not a well designed card.

Let em snif their farts, you know, this is just a lets do a poster card for someone "why would this afect your life"
For real, i like this heroes of the realms for marketing, using old characters of other family brands to make a "do you remember me" that is realy nice, but ye, a 7 years old could design something better but if this is indeed representation of MOL then they did a great job on doing it lame ( and i prefer mol over arena )
M'Odo, Gnarled OracleUBG
Legendary Creature - Zombie Elf Wizard X, Discard a card: Target player reveals cards from the top of their library until they reveal a creature of converted mana cost X or less. Put that card into the battlefield under your control and the owner shuffles the rest into their library. Activate this ability only if M'Odo is on the battlefield or in the command zone. If activated from the command zone, you lose 1 life for each card revealed by this ability.

There, a "fixed" version of this card. Still really strong though.

Can you imagine if the Money they saved by canceling Magic Player Rewards was used to print these cards? Sorry Magic players but we decided that we were better off rewarding Wizard employees than our own customers. Don't worry though! You can see us revel in how cool we are. I mean no other game company does this....not even Riot has employee only skins. Maybe they should spend more time on improving the dying game of magic then trying to look cool on social media.
Nah Wizards don’t like doing player rewards cause it alienates the fan base without lgs to play and if they do desirable reprints they will shoot at themselfs cause either it is a card they are “speculating” or cards that they want to reprint in masters sets
But for real a miss the days of full art textless promos
This is actually very well designed, for what is meant to represent for the designers. Somebody says that if people want to play vanguards, should play vanguards and not commander. Well guess what, this cards mechanic is actually entirely based about a Vanguard card, Momir Vig which is so popular and appreciated that in fact there is a whole official format dedicated only for this vanguard.
But it doesn't properly work in that capacity, either. I get that pulling from the library is meant to emulate Momir getting you a random creature, but being able to target yourself takes away a huge amount of how random it'll actually be, since you have full control over what creatures go in your deck. Not to mention all the ways there are to manipulate your topdeck. Plus, there's the fact that they dropped both the sorcery-speed and once per turn restrictions for some reason, both of which would've gone a long way toward stifling absurd combos with this thing.
Why is this so limited?!
It's cool and I'm sure it would make a fun commander that's not too OP.
Don't get me wrong... this is a cool card.
But this card is insane. This is probably one of the most broken cards I have ever seen and I'm glad it doesn't exist just because I know myself and everyone else out there would be playing this guy.

Agreed. Like even as a silly special card that isn't legal anywhere, I'm surprised they made it this broken. Like, *broken* and I don't use that term lightly.
