There is a rumor about a leaked announcement for tuesday. If it is true - could definately be fake! - will the reserved list be updated again to allow foil/prenium reprints. Additionally this will be used for new Masterpieces in Guilds of Ravnica...
Thoughts my fellows? Is this the beginning oder the end?

Rest in Peace.
I have massive reservations about this. This loophole was one they had to close back in 2010 (Mox Diamond in FTV: Relics and Phyrexian Negator in DD:Urza vs Phyrexia) because they violated the spirit of the reserved list and plenty of people were making noise. I expect a large number of those people are still around, still have a lot of value put into these RL cards, and the noise they make will drown out whatever else wizards wants to say.
I also can't help but note the irony that, if it IS real, it would be announced the day before Gencon starts - the same time that wizards unleashed the Chronicles disaster that broke the market and required the reserved list to be created in the first place. Dealers better bring some extra cash with them because the rush to sell off duals and power is going to be absurd.

Well... Of course it isn't rendered and the date is for Tuesday... As the announcement - if it would be real - is released on tuesday. Articles and annoucements are written in advance of their release date...
Well... just wanted to share the rumor with you... Maybe it's just a fake.

Definitely fake. They will not touch the Reserve List, and if they did, they would print a very long article to try to prevent the many legal issues that would cause.
Aw,crap, thought it was real. Was ready to savor the mountains of salt. Wish we could hav the announcement so we could officially single these noisy people out to the open.
Anyway, Explorations / Masterpieces and the like are crazy scarce, not that they're going to affect the price in the slightest. They will be good for hype and local stories of the guy who opened a Mind over Matter / Rofellos / Any Mox and now rocks in Commander with it*.
*Anyone opening a power 9 would totally get exempted of the ban list, at least for good amount of time.
In addition to being rather terse, the statement, "We have heard your concerns" is silly. If Wizards heard our concerns, they would know that we need reprints for Commander and Modern already, and they haven't been reprinting that much.
I'm not convinced it's real, but that would be awesome if true, it will be exciting to see they have to stones. Masterpiece type stuff doesn't increase the supply for most cards, but the first set to do that will break every record for openings, and it could easily double the number of mint duals or something similarly scarce.
Only trouble is just like BFZ, nothing else in the set would be worth beans, which if shocks are in the set, they would stop being chase rares on the spot. Demand would never touch supply again.

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
This can be fake, but it could be true in theory. I don't think that masterpieces would really hurt the original value, if only for collectable/frame reasons. An unlimited Serra is 40-50$ that has nothing to do with gameplay.
As for Ravnica 3, masterpiece original dual lands would be very fitting, and this is the #1 thing people are requesting. It's not like they will start printing moxes right away, or ever.
Obviously fake, it's way too short and direct. I don't think the headline font looks right either.
Edit: Haha, the motive is so transparent for doing this: Set out a realistic looking rumor that the reserved list will end soon, make gullible people panic sell their RL cards, buy those cards, profit. I hope nobody falls for this.
I understand some EDH players want to get powerful cards for dirt cheap, but this constant ranting on reserve list is getting tiresome, and faking an article to express dismay is childish.

I'm calling fake as well (no matter how "reputable" the source), though it's nice to imagine.
In spite of that belief, though, I'm not sure that the dearth of multicolored cards on the list is the main reason for dismissing it (I'll leave that to the brevity of the announcement, the incredible lack of forewarning for investors, and Rosewater denying it on Blogatog). If anything, it would be in character for Wizards to make an announcement like that and have all of two reserved cards in the masterpiece series to dip some toes in the water (in the same vein of "Stay tuned, Kamigawa fans... for one new ninja!")
If it was real, though...
I don't think that a single $50 reserved card in a "From The Vault" will end the world.
I don't think that a few $20-30 reserved cards in a masterpiece series would completely ruin their value forever (especially if they are decent cards).
Honestly, I don't even think it would break the game for a $1 reserved cards like Phyrexian Marauder appearing in the foil slot for a new masters set.
Even in their biggest greed-fueled binge, I don't think we'd ever see a reprint of a $200+ card outside of some ridiculously obscure promo release. The power nine, tabernacle, and moat are probably safe for a VERY long time and I wouldn't expect the price of those titans to even wobble.
Instead, the biggest (and most realistic) concern would come from the chance of $200-300 dollar cards suddenly dropping down to $90-125. For players who have invested in ABU Dual lands (even if it's just to get a single set for commander purposes), those types of hits could (quite reasonably) cause some major rage... even if these hits would come in drips and drabs over the course of years.
With this said, I guess that my only real question comes down to trust. Due to the way Promissory Estoppel works, you could only really claim damage if the price of your cards drops below what you paid for them. Wizards could easily try printing a shiny Phyrexian Marauder while claiming that they would "obviously" never reprint cards as expensive as Library of Alexandria or Volcanic Island as a matter of common sense. If people trust them to maintain some sort of standard, the price of those duals likely won't fall much (if at all) and Wizards would be pretty safe. If all investors simultaneously decide that breaking one promise from over a decade ago in a way that has yet to directly hurt them means that Wizards can never be trusted again (AKA investors are trying to punish Wizards), prices will fall and Wizards could face hell. As we only really hear from the most vocal of collectors and investors, I have no idea which way things would go.

Ravnica, being one of the most popular planes, does not need masterpieces to sell. So Masterpieces are unlikely as well.
An important announcement like that would not be such a short article. I call fake.
