Just realized they really missed an opportunity to reprint Team Spirit in blackboarder here...
Team Spirit is kinda horribly underpowered by today's standards, and they couldn't do a straight reprint anyways since they can't change the card boarders.
For the most part I'm OK with the art in Battlebond, but I really don't like cards like Soulblade Corrupter, Dwarven Lightsmith or Najeela, the Blade-Blossom. To me they look like the art director just went "idk man, just draw some fantasy looking people, who cares right?" - too bland, plane-unspecific and generic.
It because it's not collected too much and he rather have cards that people would want to get in the set
Weird how with Battlebond they do something like this, but when it came to Masters sets we would get things like Long-Forgotten Gohei.
Amen
They do reprints correctly in conspiracy and battlebond and whatever future multiplayer sets get called.
And it weird they don't do the same for master sets iconic masters was the closet they got to correct but overall the pack price was too much and thus once again better to just stick with singles
. (This is my opinion because a lot of the iconic reprints are used in edh.)

To be fair, the full quote from Gavin was about how it wasn't something people wanted AND it didn't play in a fun way. Presumably, they felt that Long-Forgotten Gohei was fun in the limited format, or had at least some people who wanted it.
Battlebond looks like a lot of fun! Love the direction the art has been taken for this set. It is so creative and new. WotC is really upping their game on this one!

Correct. BW Spirits was a draft archetype in Modern Masters 2015, and the Gohei literally is an anthem just for that archetype.

That makes sense -- I guess the ability is too strong at uncommon.
They can always save it for a future battlebond set too -- that and Training Grounds
