This is weirding me out. I mean it's really good that there's so many good cards being reprinted, but no set is this good. Where's the Crap Rare Reprints? Are there any crap Rare Reprints?
This may be the strongest set I’ve ever seen printed in my short time of playing (started in New Phyrexia block). This is absolutely nuckin futs. There’s still 100 cards more to go.

This is exactly what I'm thinking. Like, why is this set so good? Did Wizards just suddenly realize what their players have wanted all along, or did they really feel like they needed something awesome in order to actually sell a two-headed giant set?

kinda funny how a couple of weeks ago no1 was giving a crap about this set(me included)and now i could safelly say that this is the best set, value wise, ever made. Yes its more for the commander crowd but value is value. Give the crew promotion because they did their job MUTCH betetr then the Masters Set crew did.
As good as this set is my money already is locked up in another competing game. It's still good that people finally are getting at least an okay set, though. I really want WoTC to push away from the years of standard / modern focus that put the game into it's current sorry state.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
I just... yeh ok. I'm at a loss of words with this set.
You don't even have to get lucky with a foil to double your money with the boxes at this price, even once the values drop as product is opened. Also so many of the expensive cards are commander staples that will slowly creep back to where they are now.

Its the 1st Two-Headed Giant product.
Theres quite a risk that people wont buy into it for that, so they play it super save and put in all the EDH cards that otherwise nobody really wants.
That guarantees them that the boxes will sell, if there are no Two-Headed Giant people out there at least the reprints will do the trick.
----
If we get a 2nd or more of these kinds of products chances are very high they wont throw in even close to these reprints, just like they did with any other kind of these products (the 1st is usually filled with goodies).
I... dont understand. UGGGG this is soooooo good. I hope the sales on this set make wizards learn we want more of this and less of masters.

SonofaBith - Wizards was so excited about making the packaging for Modern Masters 2 recyclable, they decided to make most of the rares and all but 1 of the UC's recycle-bin ready too. Convenient!
Alon with all these ridiculous reprints (even down to spell snares and etc) some of the NEW cards (Spell recruiter, Planeswalker Rector) are also really good and least we forget the double partners in a pack and possible double foil rare partners. Theoretically a 4 rare/mythic pack?? Next thing you know tomorrow brings incredible Masterpieces to go with it Hahaha
This is bonkers and will be getting lots of my money, value and fun town!!!

Been a member here for over a dozen years. Playing since '95 just got lost in the twitch shuffle.
Did someone forget to tell the guys working on Battlebond that they're not making a Masters set? 'Cause there's a high density of reprints that people would be excited to see even if we were paying $10 a pack.
Guys, I think that wizards found the magic ratio for these sets.
For each color (hopefully plus artifacts/multi), there is one great mythic reprint, three rare reprints that will at least recoup the price of a pack, and 1 uncommon + 1 common reprint that can partially recoup a pack (I will bet that we are due for some red and black reprints tomorrow).
So... how does this set seem to have no junk rares? The new cards! Most players are notoriously bad at judging how useful a novel card is (and will find a place for subpar cards as long as they are shiny and new). Our "junk rares" are the friend or foe cycle (or at least most of them), the rakdos wrath, most of the assist rares, and some partners.
As long as the final value is unclear and people have yet to experiment, though, finding that Gorn/Virtus in your pack won't be a "feel bad" moment.

Bunch of others are making similar comments, but just quotting the one for now. Wizards did announce that as an added challenge of making a 2-headed giant directed set, they wanted to make more accessible the format of 2HG sealed and draft, and to do that they wanted people to be able to make good decks with fewer packs so it wouldn't take all day to build decks with almost a full deck's worth of playable cards in the shared sideboard.
To achieve this, they decided to reduce the amount of chaff in the set: a much higher % of cards are going to be good in this set, because it is 2HG. The side effect we are seeing is that there is much less chaff in the set! It's so much value, I can only imagine how much just the spoilers have boosted sales on the secondary market for the decks people are suddenly eager to create.
I only hope that the massively rave reviews we all expect to be giving for this set will encourage Wizards to consider raising the power level of other sets as well (maybe not Standard sets, but future innovation/supplemental sets should definitely be boosted to continue this trend of amazing awesomeness).
(edited to not be so hard on other innovation products)
These sets should take the place of all Masters sets. Period.
There's a fair argument to make this set has more stuff in it. What I think this set has done really well is the $5-$10 rare cards. In a Masters set, those cards will piss you off, as you're not making money back on your pack. Here, they're perfect. We've seen very few truly bulk rares. The majority of rares are good for EDH, even if they're not super valuable. There are some cards that are clearly made for limited, but that's mostly new stuff. I think they've done a good job putting in EDH pieces players really want while making an interesting limited and 2HG environment while having an interestingly designed set. I wish more sets were like this.
I must confess though, Lattice seems out of place in this set. It’s a very artifact centric card, thus far I don’t see that trend in Battlebond.
Well, it is supposed to be a sports arena with multiple fields. I’d say it fits from a flavor perspective. And honestly, it fits flavorfully as a mythic too if you think about it. How many people do you want having control over the make-up of the battlefield.

I’d say it’s -
#Justified.
A justifiable 'reprint', for sure, though if its flavor is about shifting battlefield, Zoetic Cavern might be here too?
