EDIT: NEVERMIND, forgot about new, terrible legend rule.
It's five years old now, not "new". Also, part of the reason they changed it was to prevent the exact kind of removal shenanigans you were getting excited about (e.g. running Phantasmal Image as cheap legendary removal).

Anyhow, this card is INSANE by itself, and even crazier when you pair it with Doubling Season.
Does Last One Standing choose randomly among all creatures? Pity it be so much better if you randomly chose among only your own creatures.
All creatures, including opponent's. This already costs 3 CMC bro, no reason to make Wrath of God cry in a corner like that.
In fact, if your deck favors a go-wide strategy, the odds of this actually being a Wrath with an upside for 3 mana is actually pretty good. Not a huge bomby staple card, but I'll have lots of fun playing it in quite a few decks.
As for Bramble Sovereign, I love you can copy your opponent's creatures as well. Yeah, they get to keep it, but still. Fun politics and 2HG shenanigans.
Bramble Sovereign after someone had a phage enter xD, Last One Standing is pretty good for 3, it leaves one creature and can deal with token strategies really well.
That's where phasing/flickering comes in handy in tandem with Last One Standing. Sure I'll Turn to Mist my <preferred creature here>, then Last One Standing, and go nuts.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Bramble Sovereign. Goes right into my Asmira, Holy Avenger EDH deck.

Didn't one of the GDS3 judges give one of the contestants crap for designing a 4-mana version of Last One Standing, saying that it would be overly swingy and unfun?
Indiscriminate Slaughter (rare)
2BR
Sorcery
Choose a creature at random. Destroy all other creatures.
Ethan Fleischer: "Ugh, this is gonna feel bad when it doesn't work out for you. I'm only going to Wrath when I'm behind on board, which means this will more often than not choose my opponent's creature to save. I just don't think people will enjoy this, and they'll play other, more reliable cards in their decks."
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

I mean, the judge's stance is a pretty subjective one that also has no set-based context. Also, don't underestimate what you get for knocking the cost of a boardwipe down to CMC 3 and add a downside.
“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
What is the best way to randomly pick a survivor for Last Stand? Especially when they are a lot of creatures on the board. Like what if there are more than 6 and you do not have a large enough die?
Color pie: Okay, that one hurt. Like, a lot. Not as much as this card, though.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

Bramble Sovereign is absolutely nuts. It pretty much goes in any green Commander deck that plays a decent amount of creatures. Roon really likes this.
