Given the new mana pool wording, I feel like the change for adding it should have been "You get G" instead of "Add G." "You get (mana)" feels more natural than "Add (mana)" and lines up better with "mana you have."
YES!!! The errata to Vial Smasher didn't nerf the card. I was worried when they said there was an exception for Vial Smasher that it would be stupid and treat planeswalkers and players as the same random choice. This actually preserves how the card was intended to function and is the best possible errata.
Damn, I didn't realize the change meant the mana pool was no more.
First they took mana burn; now they've come for the whole pool. Sad days.
I think it's more going the way of the stack; it still exists, but it's never mentioned in card text.
At least the stack gets a mention on the reminder text for split second, and the stack is an actual zone. The mana pool has always been pretty nebulous since it can't contain actual, physical objects (even if you use dice to represent mana). Stuff like Upwelling and Worldpurge got changed to "lose mana." I'm not crazy about losing the mana pool, though I just wish that they'd used a word other than "add," which reads ugly imo.
I still think those changes are just troublessome. It will be akward to play against new players when u only have old versions of some of the errated cards.

Llanowar Elves should just be T: G. It even parallels the basics to some extent.

That change seems highly probably to me. Although another suggestion that would be interesting was to change the wording to "Gather G". A nice way to put the "Gathering" back in Magic: The Gathering.

I'm voting for "produce" as that's already used on Exotic Orchard and co. Producing mana is a real thing lands already do if you tap them for mana.

Yes that is definitely better than "add" and is the best descriptor of what you are actually doing (which is the weakness of "Gather")
Blightning deals 3 damage to target player or planeswalker. That player or that planeswalker's controller discards two cards.
Thus solves the great mystery of our era.
My favorite part of this choice of wording is that it almost reads like you have to discard if you're Mindslavering someone and have them Blightning themselves.
The wording feels even more clumsy on Searing Blaze.
"Searing Blaze deals 1 damage to target player or planeswalker and 1 damage to target creature that player or that planeswalker's controller controls.
Landfall — If you had a land enter the battlefield under your control this turn, Searing Blaze deals 3 damage to that player or planeswalker and 3 damage to that creature instead."
So if the controller of the planeswalker changes between casting and resolution, the creature becomes an illegal target? Same if the planeswalker otherwise blinks or goes away? Phases out?
And if your opponent responds to a Blightning on their planeswalker by giving you their planeswalker (how greathearted of them!), it turns around and makes you discard. Cute.

That makes me feel a bit better. Thank you.
It's a basket now. The mana basket. It's very pretty.

I wonder how much annoyance and confusion this will bring about. Oy.
