MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
I actually agree with both Manite and Silver_Spellthief.
The art does feel more fitting when compared to the other members of the cycle. However, the original art was very much a classic in my mind, and this one, while artistically not bad, feels very generic and uninteresting. I like the old art better, and wish they had improved upon that concept, not abandoned it altogether.
P.S.: don't do what I did and type 'scurf' on google images.

Would you like to read Commander stories? Check my latest stories, coming from Lorwyn and Innistrad: Ghoulcaller Gisa and Doran, The Siege Tower! If you like my writing, ask me to write something for your commander as well!
While I have to agree that the new art is prett generic, the card name and its whole concept also are, so ... I prefer the new art. I never quite liked the old "goofy" one anyway.
That's true, it does. My thing is that Verdant Force is from Tempest and the other Forces didn't start being printed until Commander 2011 which kind of tells me that a cycle wasn't on their mind when they made the original. So imo if anything it's the other forces that don't really fit with Verdant Force if I were to think they should be somewhat uniform. I also just feel like they don't all have to look similar but idk.

The four other Forces could have been made to visually callback to the old Verdant Force, but they weren't, so making the new Verdant's art fit in with the other four makes sense.
Obviously a crazy powerhouse in limited, but will there be enough ramp for it to make any impact in Standard? Would it even be worth the trouble? I don't know, it lacks the immediate impact I'd usually look for in an 8-drop these days.
Thanks! I didn't realize there is a cycle completed.
I was half expecting this to be an uncommon with all the surprising rarities, but we already have Thorn Elemental, and this would be crazy good in limited.
I actually like both arts a lot. But if you gonna make me choose only one I'll stick with the classic. Not to say this new one is not pretty awesome, I like the POV here. Also was kinda expecting it to be an uncommon, because of all the craziness going on with the rarities.

Manna cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another.

Have you seen the amount of elves that tap to produce mana in Dominaria? There are an above average number.
That's more than what we usually get. In addition to that we have at least four artifacts that either tap for mana or fetch a land, and that is just in Dominaria. Once you add in the rest of the Standard Legal sets, then yeah, we have more than enough.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
And that's the funny thing: Tendershoot Dryad outclasses this...a lot...in most formats. (Seriously, any saproling deck that has trouble getting the city's blessing is doing it wrong, especially since Dryad herself gives it.) #PowerCreep
But Verdant Force was a thing for reanimator decks.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

That flavor text is a nice callback to the tempest flavor text though.

Inverse for me. This looks more like it belongs with Celestial Force, Tidal Force, Baleful Force, and Magmatic Force.
