Wow, that's a strong dude. Vigilance AND Trample in a two-mode body? This uncommon is pretty nuts.
Give me a couple more solid kicker spells like that and I might reconsider what they did with the mechanic.
EDIT: btw, strictly better than Kavu Titan in many respects - generic kicker cost, trample and vigilance already stapled in the card (not to mention uncommon vs rare). Creature powercreep is real.

The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
No kidding! I saw its templating was nearly identical and thought it was just a tweaked downshift, but then the vigilance and trample...very nice.

Yissssss, a Kavu!!! It's kinda funny to me that I quit the game when Kavu Titan was considered amazing, and I came back in time to get this. Haha!!!
This is good for the cost regardless of which mode you choose, which is noteworthy since a lot of kicker cards are slightly overcosted in one or both of their modes because you pay for the flexibility. This is pushed a bit, which really highlights how the power of creatures has evolved in almost 20 years.
I think MaRo previewed this because he had an entire article about playing well/better and the exact example was 'don't be afraid of playing Kavu Titan as a bear'. Or something like that.
This thread is full of idiots... Lightning Bolt is NOT being reprinted.
Many times has a writer in Wizards said so, because of the plain and simple fact that it's too powerful for what it costs. x/3 creatures shouldn't be able to die at instant speed for one mana without a signifigant drawback. (like PTE giving you a land)
I absolutely guarantee that LB will not be printed in M10, and you can quote me on that.
With Seal Away in the same set, there's a good chance that Vigilance will be a more relevant ability than usual in Standard. This guy has high potential to see play.
That is solid in both modes. Remember when the old version was overpowered?
IMO One of the best arts in magic. And One of the most nostalgic for me, still remember those invasion’ decks (that where great for the time) they all had a how to play with the deck and they always used this kavu in ad arts

Hmm that is a good point.

a 2/2 for 2 with those same keywords is great.
This'll see play somewhere sometime. It should. I can't wait to see a Fatal Push-less standard in October.
