And with Homarid Explorer doing the worst druid impersonation ever we almost have a combo deck! In all seriousness though, the explore mechanic may actually give this some life in Ixalan/Dominaria standard come September.
What? Where's the Rebecca Guay artwork? I'm gonna riot!
All jokes aside, I really do prefer the old art. And I think the card's iconic enough to be kept intact. At least it's a reference.
Will this card be useful in standard? Probably not. But I am still trying to make more or less classical Baron deck work in Commander with some (albeit very limited) success, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

standard: BUG The Baron (it doesn't work, but I try anyway)
There has to be some set that focuses on the graveyard coming soon. Each set has had like 1-2 cards that deal with graveyards. I wasn't playing around the time this was around before, but this couldn't have been instant?

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
Actually, the first Guay removal card I could think of was Seventh Edition Dark Banishing, and I have to be nitpicky about the flavor text, since Romeo wasn't actually dead (at the time).

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Nice throwback.
Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.
Doomsdayin'
Obviously tongue-in-cheek, but this might be useful against The Scarab God.

Anyway. Card is still cool, but a weird reprint.

German highlander:

EDH:
a positively unhealthy amount of decks
I love that that card exists.

Why would Guay fans lynch you? She didn't draw Hand of Justice, Gaze of Justice or Gallows at Willow Hill.

On phasing:
Perfect for anti-mill
Edh doesn't work as well since it's 1 of 99 cards it will it the yard from the library
