(Provisional translation) Daring Archaeologist3W Creature — Human Artificer (Rare)
When this enters the battlefield, return target artifact card from your graveyard to your hand.
Whenever you cast a historic spell, put a + 1 / + 1 counter on this.
For one extra mana this gets you an innate extra +1/+1 (which on its own would be blah) but when you cast that artifact (or any other artifact or saga or legendary) this gets another +1/+1. This thing gets itself to 4/4 effortlessly and can keep growing into a behemoth. Which is a pretty good trade for a single mana over Treasuure Hunter.
Sure, Treasure Hunter is the better choice if your #1 concern is getting that artifact back and you want an incidental but irrelevant body along the way. But this doubles as a beatstick wincon.
This probably earned a "rare" rating because there are so many historic spells in the set. If not killed right away, this creatures will become too large for damage-based removal.
Yep, but I think it's a net positive so far. This is an ok uncommon upshifted to a marginal rare. But we have had several cards that look like they should have been marginal to good rares downshifted to great uncommon.

I agree. There's also some cards that are common which could have easily been uncommon.
