(Provisional translation) Two-Headed Giant2RR Creature — Giant Warrior (Rare)
Whenever ~ attacks, Flip two coins. If both of the coins comes up heads, ~ gains double strike until end of turn. If both of the coins comes up tails, ~ gains menace until end of turn.
4/4
I like it. Two-thirds' chance of an upside is good for Limited, especially when one of those upsides is double strike. Unfortunately these aren't coin flips you win or lose so doesn't work with Chance Encounter.
Could this actually be good? 4/4 for 4 is on curve, the fact that it can add random extra bonuses is just gravy.
Probably won't see play while Rekindling Phoenix is in the format but that card's OP
I like it. Two-thirds' chance of an upside is good for Limited
It's 50% actually, 4 possible outcomes, since order matters (HH, HT, TH and TT) and only 2 of them provide an upside
Ah, of course, silly me forgetting that HT and TH are actually distinct permutations (i.e. that we're looking for a permutation with repetition and not a combination with one).
It's 50% actually, 4 possible outcomes, since order matters (HH, HT, TH and TT) and only 2 of them provide an upside
Alternatively, you can flip one coin twice. The first result doesn't matter, only the second one does--either it matches the first result or it does not. Either way, definitely 50% to get a bonus.
“Dice rolling is evil, and will never be done in black border because randomization is evil. Coin flipping is perfectly okay, because reasons.” -Wizards
The easiest way to analyze the chances of this gaining either ability is to only think about the second flip. Only question is whether the second flip matches whatever the first was, and that will always be a 50/50.
This design just reeks of Richard Garfield. Two heads each making up their mind about how they wanna attack, and if they both end up agreeing, then they perform better! Nice.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

The coin flips are each independent events with a 1 in 2 chance of getting heads and tails. So yes, the first and second flips are different here.
