Yawgmoth's Vile Offering4B Legendary Sorcery (Rare)
Put up to one target creature or planeswalker card from a graveyard onto the battlefield under your control. Destroy up to one target creature or planeswaler. Exile Yawgmoth's Vile Offering. Centuries ago, a mad god offered a simple trade.
Yawgmoth offered to ressurect or recreate Hanna in exchange for Urza's head. But after Gerrard defeated Urza and cut off his head in the Phyrexian Arena, it became clear that this was not Hanna at all.
so what? Thats a weak and slow interaction. I can udnerstand extra turns having this, but not 5 costed reanimation with a removal on it. Its a good effect but not exiling worthy.
Kind of. He was able to appear as basically anything while being on Phyrexia. In the Phyrexian Arena he was the whole spectators and the arena itself if I remember correctly.

I just checked, and cards that ETB return an instant or sorcery also work, like Archaeomancer, FWIW
Maybe to try and cut back on reanimation repetitive? I know thats why they don't like having too many tutor running around in standard. Or maybe since the creature or planeswalker you get back isn't exiled when it dies?

ohhh noo , sutch a scary synergy ohhh so dangerous.....
Quite the strong card. The one black also means it is easily splashable. I'm confident this will be one good standard player. Clean 2 for 1 like that is pretty brutal.
Probably gonna consider for the Liliana, Heretical Healer deck I'm thinking of building.
EDIT: also, reanimates any target, including opposing graveyards. Glad to see that back.

Jeez, I'm not saying it's the most powerful interaction or anything. Just pointing it out.

Wasn't making fun of you XD. Was trying to make fun at Wizards for been scared of this type of synergy with makes no sense to me.
This card is strong. Haven't seen the chase rare yet but I think this is so far. That's nasty. I'm thoroughly surprised at the exile clause, since we've only seen that on "Take an extra turn" cards.
EDIT: Jesus Christ Yawgmoth was ugly as hell.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
But what historic moment is this? Could it be Gerrard and Urza's severed head?
Someone didn't didn't look at the art.
You a literally see Gerrand holding Urza head next to his bleeding body.

I believe this is after Gerrard won the fight against Urza in the Phyrexian arena. Gerrard was fighting his former ally bc Yawgmoth promised to bring Hanna, Gerrard's love interest, back from the dead. So this image is Gerrard getting his 'reward' for defeating Urza.
That artwork is fantastic! A great callback to that old InQuest picture that was supposedly an image of Yawgmoth.

Pretty decent card. I think this is the first time we have a Planeswalker Reanimation spell that can target any graveyard.
But yeah, exile clause is silly considering you need a legendary card out. Totally unnecessary (maybe it's for flavor?).
-Amazing, disturbing landscape. Very Doom-esque.
-Gerrard was welding a soul halberd, not a short ax dammit!
-This is the moment before the artwork for Jilt then.
-We are in the 8th or 9th sphere, but no arena?
-So the artwork in Inquest about Apocalypse was an accurate impression of Yawgmoth's final form?
