On topic, I really like the enchantment. It’s pretty slow but so much fun. I’ll enjoy trying it in my blue/green Commander. I’m assuming that in reality this will get blown up before it goes off unless I have doubling season out. But, for the times it doesn’t, it’ll be fun!
I kinda hate the art for The Mirari Conjecture, to be honest. Looks more like something out of a war game than a Magic card. The card itself ain't bad, if a touch expensive for what you get.
Powerstone Shard is a nice revisit of the Cloudpost effect, though as a Commander player this does almost nothing for me. Great flavor text.
The full art, and description on the site, changed my mind. At first I wasnt sure I liked it, but I thought of what it could be representing, and I was pretty close. :]
As to the power, if it was cheaper, it would be amazing.
Still not a big fan of so fundamentally changing the style of the cards, but they look overall good enough (even if just a bit too slow for older formats).
Anyway, having all of them in 1 giant Background Image or a playmat might be really cool.
Check out the symbol in the circle just to the right of the dividing line between chapter I and II. Is that the brand Urza put on Karn's chest? Kinda looks like it to me - the Tolarians have figured out a lot indeed!
For such a flavorful card is certainly is a shame that the Silent Gravestone makes it useless for chapters I and II. Chapter III, though...well, let's just say that Torrential Gearhulk approves, even if that forces you to cast it on your own turn. Might be worth it, though.
I really want to like The Mirari Conjecture for EDH as I have a spell slingery deck. It provides a lot of value and the third effect is quite strong. My concern is that it might be too slow. I'll probably at least test it out. The artwork, of course, is excellent.
It seems that WotC realized that Brawl needs mana rocks... On top of that, Powerstone Shard should be fun in limited, especially in multiples.

What land mass is that supposed to be? I would have thought that it would be Otaria, since that's where the Odyssey took place, featuring the Mirari, but this doesn't resemble the known Otaria map at all, nor any of the other major continents as I recognize them.
It IS Otaria. It's just turned to an unexpected angle. Same shape.
Whoa,whoa,whoa..... a high res version of the map where you can read everything.
Thank you very much sir!!

Been a member here for over a dozen years. Playing since '95 just got lost in the twitch shuffle.

And by the looks of it soon we'll all have access to hi-res maps of Dominaria thanks to the new playmats that were shown last week! Can't wait to get one.
I bought a copy of the Mirari when I first started playing EDH, long after he card was out of standard. Cool to know it's got story attached to it.
The Mirari has a lot of story attached to it. Notice that the set symbol for Odyssey is the Mirari.
Karn created the Mirari, and eventually he transformed the Mirari into Memnarch. Before Karn took it away, the Mirari caused all kinds of havoc with a lot of major characters on Dominaria, and after becoming Memnarch, it caused all kinds of problems on Argentum, which Memnarch renamed Mirrodin.
Does James Arnold have a website where he has his prints? I know on Reddit people were able to get a big print of the History of Benalia going and I'm planning on getting three 60 x 20 Canvas pictures for the living room soon.
This thing is gorgeous.

If you look at the new map of Dominaria that they released with the first story (IIRC) then you will recognize this as Otaria indeed. My first comment on that map was along the lines of "I always though Otaria had a different shape" and indeed it is. Note that this might not even be a retcon (or it is a retcon hidden within lore if the new shape is inconsistent with anything that could transition from the old shape) - there are other statements from original sources that include references to changes in landscape e. g. someone mentioned land masses becoming submerged in water over time.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

I mean, Emperor Aboshan flooded Otaria back in Odyssey, and (iirc) it was never established whether or not the floodwaters ever receded.
BUT HEDRONS!!!!!
In all seriousness I love both cards spoiled today. the flavor and art on both is top notch
Agreed. Let’s not feed into this behavior.

Powerstone Shard at common, though....the potential for abuse is there. Turn 1 land, Llanowar Elves, Turn 2 land, Powerstone Shard, Turn 3 land, Powerstone Shard, Metalwork Colossus. Too vulnerable to Abrade, though, presuming your opponent is using it. Needs Padeem.
