I have to say that I adore the visual concept of the sagas being basically artistic pieces.
So far, we have:
Petroglyphs - Fall of the Thran
Stained glass vitrage - History of Benalia
Tapestry - The First Eruption
Statue - Gerrard's Triumph
Cast iron relief/grid - The Flame of Keld
Altar engraving - Phyrexian Scriptures
Looking forward to the rest
I don't remember correctly... but has there been a given definite number of Sagas?

No, but there are certainly more spoiled than those, e.g. The Time of Ice, Song of Freyalise, Chainer's Torment etc...

We know of 12 and can probably expect at least 3 more to have an equal color distribution. So far we have:
3 White - 1 Mythic, 1 Rare, 1 Uncommon
3 Blue - ? Mythic, ? Rare, ? Uncommon
3 Black - 1 Mythic, ? Rare, ? Uncommon
2 Red - ? Mythic, 1 Rare, 1 Uncommon
1 Green - ? Mythic, ? Rare, ? Uncommon
"One eye covered to gaze at the goddess within"...that still sounds narcissistic to me.
See one of the top comments on Gatherer for Narcissism. Green is sometimes too isolationist like its neighbor white.

Cult of the Succubi Eating Kitten and Brotherhood of Hamsters - Zombie One/Hulking One - Brotherhood of Hamsters disapproves of Damage on the Stack amputation, the corruption of Mythics, and the "Major changes to Extended" in July 2010. You aborted our cards., but we approve of the Modern format. Even if it doesn't ha ve Carrion Feeder or Caller of the Claw in it.

Lava and ash wash across the land, dealing damage to everything. Only the strong will survive the torrent.
Yeah, it's fine from a top-down flavor perspective. Other sagas like Fall of the Thran or Time of Ice manage to combine flavor and mechanics better though.

The mana helps you to rebuild between the damage sweeps and protect your creatures from the second one and they fit well strategically.
But yes, they aren't mechanically related effects and they have no particular synergy.
I'm not sure if that's really a problem, though I did have the same reaction to seeing the card.
We’ve already seen the text of the WWW, UUU, and RRR creatures in this cycle. It’s presumed there is a BBB as well, it just didn’t involve any rules complications such as to be clarified in the release notes.
I'm not gonna lie but as soon as I heard about Steel Leaf Champion alongside Llanowar elves I was getting more excited than I probably should have. It's gonna be a beast of a card and loads of fun to play.

It is a volcanic eruption.
Ground is hot, non-fliers take some damage.
Eruption starts, so you get red mana.

There IS still half the set to be revealed, so.... At least there's HOPE for it to be balanced a bit more.....

RUNIN: Norse mythology set (awaiting further playtesting)
FATE of ALARA: Multicolour factions (currently on hiatus)
Contibutor to the Pyrulea community set
I'm here to tell you that all your set mechanics are bad

I hope we don’t see anything like this in a non-green color. This is exactly what green should do and it should do it best, IMO.
My hope is that we see more stuff like the new Doom blade to keep the big creatures in check on a low-curve
RHONAS... the list goes on.
