Chandra could be standard playable to be quite honest. Just a very top-down designed PW. Teferi is meh in comparison but still solid for coming in decks.

Teferi has a child. Makes sense though. Can't be going around the multiverse looking like Idris Elba and not having someone that'll let you phase them out.

Pyromantic Pilgrim looks badass, would like to see him in actual set instead.
Karplusan Hound wording is weird in a bad way. Why "cardname" and "this creature" on the same card? What does it mean? Whenever I attack with any Karplusan Hounds, this ability triggers for every one of them?
Yeah, the flavor of Teferi having a child whose effect is to go fetch him from his study when visitors come is great. A great way to show a family dynamic through card abilities, even if it's the stock tutor effect for planeswalker decks.
This is as close as EDH will get to having a non-specifically worded Planeswalker as a Commander I guess lol. Have her in zone to always be able to find her father, unless he gets exiled...but then you run Pull from Eternity to try and bring him back.
Are they ever going to put "Search for X Planeswalker" card on these, ever? I think they'd have so much more usage that way.
They've said they are specifically avoiding that because they want to minimize the "Rat's Nest" risk, where a deck designed for newbies and casuals is suddenly unobtainable because the card in it is highly sought-after for Standard/Modern play. I mean, I don't think Chandra's Outburst has a huge risk of that anyways but it'd be at least interesting to discuss if it also drew a Chandra, Torch of Defiance and not a terrible six-drop.

It's really a shame, because these cards are about as useful as Regicide to everyone who's not just learning the game.
Also, is it weird that Karplusan Hound references itself the second time as "this creature" instead of its name?
It's a part of that paradigm where cards are going to indicate "This, them, they" etc instead of he/she gender pronouns or the creature's full name again.

A guess based on the fact that they changed this kind of wording in damage effects is that they want to no longer use cardnames in "~ deals N damage to <target phrase>" and instead use the "this <something>" phrase to drive home the distinction between e. g. spells dealing damage and permanents dealing damage. It's not ambiguous under the old wording for experienced players. But I can imagine this being something that helps. Most of all it is a consistent wording.
I agree it would be even more consistent if they stopped using phrases like "Whenever ~ attacks". No idea why they aren't pulling the trigger on that one.

I have never really got the point of Planeswalkers Decks...I mean yes I get the idea of things that are flavor and simple for new players to use but do the cards always have to be overcosted and weak.

The "overcosted and weak" bit is deliberate.
As for the reason, I don't fully remember, but I think it's a safety measure against people descending on these decks like vultures and cracking them for the walkers inside. These are supposed to be decks that help to ease newer players into the game.
Nice, a Legendary Creature tutor! I really like that. Also loving the Teferi design. Great art overall. I was miffed at the Jace deck not having solid design or art... the Jace tutor barely even showed him on it, and his PW card looked off... the art on some of these can be hit or miss. I love the polar rotation of stars in the background of Teferi. Man his deck has some great artworks. Niambi too. Just all around solid.

So the idea behind making the cards in the PW deck 'worthless' is to prevent the issue that happens with some other precon products when it comes to 'new players' vs 'established players looking for MSRP.' They are specifically aiming low on value to make sure that folks like us don't keep the product from new players (in both the 'deck is permanently out of stock' way and the 'hobby stores match demand with a 10 dollar cost increase' way). Which usually happens to EDH precons (a product meant to draw new players into EDH by giving them a full EDH deck for them to retool).
If a single card in the precon were good enough to make it standard needed, it'd drive the product price up and reduce availability to the intended audience, fresh meat learning how to sling spells.
Nice, a Legendary Creature tutor! I really like that.
We've technically got at least two ofthose before in recent times, but not as mana-cheap as this.
This one though effectively makes the PW deck Teferi a virtual commander, which someone mentioned up top.
??? Do you mean in actual commander because I fail to see why anyone would do that over rocking Teferi, Temporal Archmage. Both the New Teferis fall well short of that standard, the only advantage is you get an extra color. And in Brawl, I assume these cards are usable in Brawl well you can make the actual Planeswalker your commander anyway.

I mean, using Teferi, Timebender in "real" Commander would not make for a strong deck, but it's just kind of a fun cheat/trivia item to use Niambi to make her dad a virtual commander.
I am super excited for the Teferi deck. I’ve wanted them to stamp the search ability on a legendary creature since they began these planeswalker decks. I hope that they do it more often for commander players. I also like that you can get a buttload of turns with some open mana and the chain veil.
