Lol, people will hate anything on first sight. The frame is fine, soon you'll no longer see it and no longer be shocked. You might even appreciate being able to assess legendary with a glimpse.
Really? I found it so minor an alteration that it feels more like a gimmick. It is just a stylish frame around the card name. Doesn't look bad, but nothing to write home about. I thought when they mentioned a different frame that it would be a drastic change, something like the new Jace signature spellbook frame.
I don't hate alternative frames in general. Loved the Kaladesh masterpieces one, the Unstable "borderless" lands have really grown on me, I actually think sagas look fine, the Jace signature spellbook one is pretty solid ... but this one really just irks me for some reason. Well, maybe I'll get used to it, that's why I wrote knee-jerk reaction afer all.
That Llanowar Elves is a must have. Would like a better look at the Store Championship rare elf. Will probably want it too. Kinda like the new legendary frame.
Planeswealker deck planeswalkers and special cards have the same numbering, so it's infinitely more likely that they are part of that kind of product.
The FAQ explicitly stated it was for buy-a-box:
The Dominaria set contains 269 cards (20 basic land, 101 common, 80 uncommon, 53 rare, and 15 mythic rare) that appear in booster packs, plus 10 cards available only in Dominaria Planeswalker Decks and 1 unique promotional card (available as part of the Dominaria in-store Buy-a-Box promotion

Whoof, rough stuff. That's seriously bad voodoo since it's a fairly hyped commander card.
I just noticed after my initial comment that the djinn is legendary. Man, what a bummer, that was a very balanced card without the legendary textbox. It would be a strictly better Mahamoti Djinn.
It is still a good card, but now I think you can't just jam four-copies of it. Here is where stapling legendary in everything starts to reduce the playability of cards.

Heart of Kiran is legendary, and people jam 4 copies of it into decks all the time. You just have to wait until they eat removal before you play the next one.
It's not like it has Delve and recasting it is that much harder the next time.

It doesn't even feel legendary. It's just your run-of-the-mill djinn which also happens to be a strictly better Mahamoti. What does he have that sets him apart from other djinni?

O.o we’ve seen nothing that indicates it is. This is an FNM promo. They can be literally anything, but are usually something standard legal.
Nothing? It says DOM at the bottom and it has a different collector number than the Ixalan version, so I'm inclined to think it's being printed in Dominaria...
The FNM promos are both excellent choices, which makes me cautiously optimistic about FNM promos going forward. Llanowar Elves and the land are also great picks.
And I like the legend frame, it looks okay and is quite subtle, which is excellent. I`m glad they´re doing a special legendary frame for limited purposes, since it seems that managing the number of legendary creatures is going to be a thing, and as far as special frames go, those aren´t anywhere near as gaudy as some of the ones they´ve done lately.
Is the Minotaur really only found in special BAB packs? I´m generally not too hot on them printing Standard legal cards that can´t be found in Standard sets. The PW deck cards are okay since they are so parasitic and underpowered that they are guaranteed to not become constructed playable, and the Minotaur doesn´t look too hot either, but can you imagine the availability issues if it became a staple? This Minotaur looks very safe, but can you imagine a 4-of Standard staple only being available like that, and on top of that, only existing in curly foil? They are playing with fire here.
Edit: Hey look, all the promos have the Dominaria set symbol! No shooting star! And they are extended art! Looks excellent! But do they have the PW symbol because they are FNM promos (which would be kind of stupid), or do they make all the FNM promos from storyline spotlight cards from now on (which would be weird)?
Edit 2: Wait, that´s not extended art...? They just use the frame that looks like extended art cards, and put the PW symbol behind the text box instead?
Edit 3: Why don´t the green cards have white card names?
Now that is what the game needs. A good update to the card frame, modern playable removal, and let's hope better card stock.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
It is, which seems stupid given Dominaria rotates with Ixalan...
I approve of the new doom blade.

Commander: WUBRG Superfriends, GW Rhys Tokens, WUBRG Scion of the Ur-Dragon
Kitchen Table (now that's real Magic): WUBRG Domain, GU Biovisionary, UB Korlash Grandeur, UW Merfolk Mill
EDH is a CASUAL format. Get with the program, or GTFO.
The FAQ explicitly stated it was for buy-a-box:
249 seems reasonable.

Great, it would be the last card before the basic lands! (250-269, 4 of each type)

I´m SO confused.
Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.
Doomsdayin'
Both green cards seem to be gameday(?) full art promos, while the darker frame with white text is used only for FNM promos.

Well, it seems to be called "Zhalfirin <something>", so you'd be hard-pressed to find a cardname to put after it.
