1) This set reminds me of Time Spiral block in all the best ways.
2) Printing spells that can target players but not Planeswalkers at the very first opportunity is just going to cause more confusion regarding errata.
3) It sounds a little like the buy-a-box promo isn't going to be in the set proper. I hope I'm just misinterpreting that.
4) A legend in every pack = common legends? Pauper Commander would be an interesting format.
I'm gonna be honest: I like the references and the flavor, and I also like the originality of the new mechanics like Saga and Historic.
That said... I'm not feeling the hype. Aside from a single llanowar elves, I don't see the change in design that wizards promised. Teferi and Karn look moderately powerful, and the cycle of three coloured creatures too, but the rest? Conditional spells, overcosted kicker effects and a mix o tribal and legendary sinergies, with tons of overcoated legends.
I honestly want to like this... but I don't see it. Simply don't see the expected change in design. If something is happening, it is at a glacial pace. I don't see how any of this set is 'fixing' standard.

This set looks awesome. I love the legendary sorceries. I'm happy they called kicker "kicker" and not something else like strive. They said there would be a legendary card in each pack - is that a legendary slot in the pack? Something else?
I'd like to take a step back from the cards per se and say I'm loving the heavy color weight of some of these cards. I've been wishing for years (decades?) for Wizards to bring color weight more prominently into the design space as a balancing mechanic (and encouragement to pair down a bit on splashing). It's so great to see them getting more into that territory.
IDK how much of an actual impact these individual cards will have on the various formats, but this is almost Fatal Push/Abrade levels of hype for me in terms of design direction.

- Your link doesn't have public permissions.
- Wizards themselves posted the English version hours ago (it's linked from the last post of page 2). We aren't reliant on translations anymore.
Let the guy be. He must have translated all the info and probably didn't know wizards released it.

I'm on my cellphone, so I can't easily look for quotes, but there was an understanding that the pendulum of design had swung too far towards creatures, and spells were less and less powerful. They also had abandoned many of the traditional things of their design such as 1-mana dorks, 2-mana burn spells and overall powerful and cheap removal in black, white, etc. I would say reprinting lightning strike, making fatal push and now reprinting llanowar elves are the smallest of steps towards returning to an era of actually balanced and powerful magic CARDS. However, the rest of this set fails profoundly to follow these guidelines from what I'm abstracting here. I see bunchs of spells that depend on creatures and other conditions to be good and I see a very creature-centric design, with mostly medium-to-mediocre things. I will take a look again tomorrow to see if I'm missing something or being too unfair.

Not all the set has been spoiled, that said thre are very good cards, for example:
Damping Sphere
2
Artifact
If a land is tapped for two or more mana, it produces C instead of any other type and amount.
Each spell a player casts costs 1 more to cast for each other spell that player has cast this turn.
It seems like there are a lot of visual changes referenced in the notes, but we don't have any examples yet. At least they'll have some good opportunities to spoil these changes, albeit with us knowing about them (bar between reminder and rules text for example)
My stars... this is like the legendary themes of Kamigawa and the callbacks of Time Spiral block, all mashed together and done right. I suspect they could print 115 (or whatever) Squires as the rest of the set from this point, and it'd still be damned good (well, so long as the Squires weren't the fifteen mythics, I guess).
Great to see the Innistrad duals, Siege-Gang Commander, Llanowar Elves, Gaea's Blessing and several of the other reprints.
And some of those legendaries... I agree wholeheartedly with the comments about the Sultai commander and the RW Angel. They're strong.
Finally, love the callback to Dakkon Blackblade in that equipment. My playgroup started out during the 4th Ed / Ice Age / Chronicles era, and Dakkon was one of the largest things printed. We used to race to be the person holding Dakkon (given this was with the old legendary rule). It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...

I totally agree, this set exceeds my expectations so far. SO many flavor and lore callbacks, and so many deceptive strong cards that I'm hoping the set doesn't completely warp Standard.
FYI, if you're playing with Wizards, they just put Counterspell into Modern (now which Modernstaples have the Wizard subtype...?).
EDIT:
By the way, this was a huge **** up by some Wizards employee, so can we all stop calling this a leak? This isn't like some information accidentally got out to the public from some third party. This is like Wizards accidentally walking around outside naked.
So if it is right it has a one green mana dork (maybe they are no longer to strong for standard)
Also for those wondering about common legends Rosewater said on his blogatog that there is a legendary slot in each pack so does not mean common legends necessarily
This set is going to be better than Khans and I thought Khans was one of the best set released in the last 10 years.
Being someone who`s been playing since 1995, there is serious nostalgia here, even more so than Time Spiral (and the cards are a lot better).
This one caught my attention:
Sylvan Awakening
2G
Sorcery
Until your next turn, all lands you control become 2/2 Elemental creatures with reach, indestructible, and haste. They're still lands.
This thing is...bonkers. It fits in a lot of archetypes in modern (namely as an alternative win con for Scapeshift) and is easily a control finisher.
I'm amazed at the stuff I've read so far. I'm putting on my tin foil hat in regards to the conspiracy to make people forget M25! It has and now we all have something amazing to look forward to!
Ha, they made a version of Healing Salve that does both effects (plus some, as HS couldn't target PWs)

The most powerful cards often just say "That thing dies", "Draw some cards" or "Deal a bunch of damage to any target". So there is still hope that all these potatos will come with a healthy dose of meat and marrow.
This set looks awesome. I love the legendary sorceries. I'm happy they called kicker "kicker" and not something else like strive. They said there would be a legendary card in each pack - is that a legendary slot in the pack? Something else?
At least one per pack, similar to how Innistrad's blocks have done guaranteed DFC slots in each pack.
