We had best be getting a Cadillac at green Rare if we are getting a Lada at green Mythic. Wow guys.
Ok. So to be fair, the video was pretty hilarious and epic. I really do want to Trisk and Tree.
Ok! So looking at a wiki page for this card, it talks about Thraben Cathedral, so maybe Thalia got lonely and wanted a really angsty tree to hang around.
The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
This is not the first card I think of when I think of Innistrad. Granted, the first two cards most people think of are ruled out by the Color Crunching of Mythics (and the fact MM3 just reprinted them both), but I'd rather they just not give Innistrad the Mythic Slot at all in this case.
... or if they wanted to really fill the remaining Mythic Slots, Mikaeus, the Lunarch is at least worth double the tree (not that it would help value of course) and I have a better chance of making a 4-color Animar monstrosity work in Limited than this tree alone.
Or even better, since the Eldrazi effectively lost their chances with Animar in the set, throw Rise of the Eldrazi a bone and give the slot to Vengevine instead...
Oh boy this is a bad one. The other less value mythics are at least cool or iconic cards, this isnt. This just shouldnt be here.

SonofaBith - Wizards was so excited about making the packaging for Modern Masters 2 recyclable, they decided to make most of the rares and all but 1 of the UC's recycle-bin ready too. Convenient!
This is such a bad choice that it almost makes me want Triskaidekaphobia to be in just to highlight how bad this is... At least it's at the rarity where we'll see it the least.
Junk reprints at mythic only increase the chances of desirable reprints at rare. This is a good thing.
This is a strange pick for Innistrad, though.
I thought it was to lower the EVA for boxes because of Jace??
If there is any merit to the rumor that Mythics were swapped out at the last minute because of how bad IMA was, was this one of the originals or one of the swaps?
I'm actually curious and wondering how this set compares to eternal masters. In all honesty I think anyone else who pre-ordered is probably curled up in a fetal position in a corner of their room sending small prayers to the heavens that the remaining rares and uncommons save this set from oblivion.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!

Noble Hierarch and Doubling Season still fit into the name/number crunch, so we can still hope for two Cadillacs!
Another $1 card in $10 dollar packs. People (and shops) really need to stop buying into these sets. WotC needs to put in A LOT more value if they wanna charge 10 bucks a pack.
Or maybe they could just stop charging $10 a pack for no good reason.
The green rares better be off the charts to make up for the Mythics.
Do I like this this card? Yeah I have it in a casual treefolk formation deck.
Do I want to crack it in a ten dollar pack?
No........no no no no no...No

Been a member here for over a dozen years. Playing since '95 just got lost in the twitch shuffle.
This is the crap they expect us to spend $10 a pack on. It's a joke at our expense at this point. A lot of these choices would be reasonable, or at least understandable, at a price point of $7. They can *%#~ themselves.

But the player base is crying for reprints so rather than budget and save for the cards that would retain their value they'd rather pay for premium packs and give their money to wizards so they'll devalue collectors who paid retail price at release?
Sorry I'm venting here but I'm cashing out. I get that people want to play cards but I'm not giving wotc "retail price" for more sets that are just cherry picking the valuable from my collection.

Eternal masters is leagues better than this.
EMA Mythics
Balance
Force of Will
Jace, The Mind Sculptor
Necropotence
Vampiric Tutor
Sneak Attack
Worldgorger Dragon
Argothian Enchantress
Natural Order
Dack Fayden
Maelstrom Wanderer
Sphinx of the Steel Wind
Chrome Mox
Mana Crypt
Karakas
Taking out the chaff you're left with:
Karakas
Mana Crypt
Chrome Mox
Natural Order
Sneak Attack
Vampiric Tutor
Force of Will
Jace, The Mind Sculptor
Slightly more than 50% mythics that are chase-ish.
So on that front, EMA has Masters beat by a landslide.
However, the rare slot is looking ok because all the lands are desirable.
Edit: Just noticed that Pandelhaven is at rare. Gross.
Chad Andras is really getting this correctly: Wizards is looking like it's running out of real estate to dish out. These sets have been...really quite bad.
The green rares better be off the charts to make up for the Mythics.
Well, they kinda are so far. We've seen 4 green rares so far. 3 of them are worth more than the more valuable of the two mythics (Azusa, Summoner's Pact, Protean Hulk).
In fact it's kinda odd how it's shaken down so far... of the six green rare-sheet cards so far, the least and third-least valuable cards are the mythics.

You'd think people would learn, it happens every single time. Wizards reveals the most valuable cards first, everyone loses their mind, then the rest of the set gets revealed and it turns out it's mostly chaff. Anyone who is still preordering these things before the whole set is revealed deserves exactly what they get.

The Reserve List itself is a clear indicator that anything not on it can be reprinted any time. Any investing you did in a card game meant that you knowingly undertook that risk, and WotC is not beholden to your collection's precious, precious value.

There's nothing more disappointing than a bulk rare tree at mythic, and one of our last 2 mythics...
So much for Doubling Season.
That mythic is even worse than red akroma
EDIT: wait a second..... that means if doubling season is in this it's going to be a rare not mythic. Oh goody this is not as bad a second I though
