I don't think this will be hard to ascend with by at least turn 5 in Vampires as they are a go wide deck.

I like this for Karlov. Even if it doesn't hit anything big and drain for a ton, any life gain triggers that come with extra card advantage are very welcome.
It costs twice as much, but it comes on a Makindi Griffin body. The Bob ability requires the city's blessing, but it's not really Bob: Your opponents lose life, and you gain life.
So, it's kind of a better Augury Adept TBH. But only if you're playing something like tokens or affinity where you can get the city's blessing quickly.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Seems good in Edgar Markov; against slow opponents you'll gain the blessing immediately, forcing yet another "destroy this or lose" threat. Man is Edgar stupid with all these Conquistampires.
It might be enough in most Black EDH decks that build any sort of board presence, actually. The city blessing IS basically a free Augury Adept trigger + Baneful Omen every upkeep, so if this triggers even once you are really doing it. I'd be excited to try it in Rakdos, as I tend to get a big board and run out of gas - this fixes both things and effectively makes mana to boot. Super sick.
Not convinced on Standard - all of that is very powerful, but it's a slow and fragile engine and games aren't guaranteed to let you go unmolested to turn six.

There is also a land that has ascend. Once you get the city's blessing it never leaves so having that land out early can ensure you will always receive the blessing when you meet the conditions despite any of your other ascend cards being in play. That way if you get board wiped or lose lots of permanents your other cards will already be online later. I think it is something to consider when evaluating how good ascend will be.
Seems thematically a vampire card, not sure how it'll function in standard. Limited this can be great, EDH tribal loves this. Could be fun, and the art is nice IMO.
This may actually be a pretty good card to top the BW vampire deck with. Vampires is very heavy on tokens so it's easy for them to get the blessing compared to some of the other tribes. Additionally, that ability to draw cards in the mid game gives them gas against some of the other strategies. The only downside is that I still don't think this card is better than Sanctum Seeker simply because we still have Energy in the format.
But yeah, I could see someone curve into this from Mavren Fein, Dusk Apostle. I think she'd be a more garanteed include if she also had lifelink and honestly they probably could have given her lifelink considering she only has 2 power.

I absolutely LOVE the card, but I have only one question...
Why are they moving away from the "And you gain that much Life"?
Those cards were kinda good for 1 vs 1, but were powerful and interesting for multiplayer, so you would become the main target; so you needed to use them wisely...
I wonder how will they push abilities to get the City's Blessing...
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
