I kind of love how Azor's Gateway rewards you for trapping dead cards, making it much less painful to play multiples of legendary things. Seems like a (not so) secret synergy in a world with this many of 'em.
Much as I dislike exiling my cards and waiting a while for my card to do something (or get blown out by removal), I am really tempted to try the arch in Oloro. Just imagine the joy of Sphinx's Revelation or Debt to Deathless with this.
The land is interesting. Ten permanents is a lot, but draw on a land is something some colors just need in EDH.

If anywhere, Azor's Gateway will see play in specifically Approach decks to win quicker. Anything than that, I'm sorry, but I flip it at beston turn 8, spending mana on this, while with control deck right now there is no free mana to be spent, it just has to be glimmer or settle on turn 4 or you are dead. After I have 6 lands (7 if approach deck) I already start bottoming any land I see, because mana isn't my greatest concern at that point. My concern is usually getting ahead on cards and finding answers to last threats my opponent has. Which, you know, Azcanta gives me while ramping me, and filtering as well before it flips. There is just no slot for this card in control decks. Combo, if any.
And Pull from Tomorrow is too slow on it's own, so I don't want to risk drawing it on turn 3 without even drawing gateway. Pull was a liability any time I tried to put it in.
How would split cards work with this? Can you exile an aftermath card and have that count toward two different cmcs?

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
By the time a player has successfully met the requirements of Azor's Gateway in my EDH meta, somebody has already won. The chances of it happening in standard with Ram Red and Temur Energy stomping around are slim to none. It's flavourful, but it's a bad card.
This might be strange, but the average EDH game does not end before Turn 7. It won't work for your meta, but 99% of all cards won't work in a meta like that.

You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Would the cards for Azor's Gateway be exiled face up? I would assume so. I'd still use it for card filtering. My only concern is how much information I'm giving up to the opponent. Also, it would be kind of funny with Misthollow Griffin, Torrent Elemental, and Eternal Scourge, as they can be traded for a card now, and then cast later. Almost like a janky version of Scroll Rack.
Even with the huge transform condition,
I won't be surpised at all if this card is considered a mistake later.
They've never printed another land capable of producing *this* much mana
without an unreasonable amount of set up.

Add a land for 0 and something for 1 or 2 that you don't mind giving up and you're there.:)

As of Amonkhet, any time the card isn't on the stack, split cards have a CMC of both sides combined. You're still liable to get unique CMCs out of it, though, because the total can be quite a lot.

How does Azor’s gateway interact with split cards and aftermath cards? Does it interact favorably, like I think it would?
Just total CMC of both sides.
Under the old rules, it wouldn't work the way you'd be thinking. Assault // Battery could be 1 or 4 the way it's worded, but not both (since it needs five different cards). Now, though, assault and battery is five.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Maybe its worth a try to use a "copy" effect to use an easier method of transform from one of the other transform cards and flip it that way.
Would hopefully just require 1 card to do so, especially if you can copy something like Search for Azcanta to flip into the massive mana lands, it "could" be something to work with ... (the card is just so painfully bad on its own, without cheating anything)

This makes me want to build a Gate-themed deck, with all the Guildgates, Gate to the Aether, Gate to the Afterlife, Azor's Gateway, etc.

If that exists, the land could be a serious deal if it taps for a giant pile of mana.

Also is this is very first time Wizards has used "different converted mana cost matters" theme? Sure, this card is a mythic, but I wonder.
Ah, and the Gateway + Dawnglow Infusion or any other such cards = insanity
