Hmm... still no Aetherling. It's cool but discarding 3 cards is a heavy burden.

Not an Aetherling, but seems Good. Most of a Rhystic Study + Spellbook + a 7/7 body + an (expensive but livable) flicker effect for protection is quite strong. Clearly designed to be like Pearl Lake Ancient as an anti-control Control finisher.

No hand size, counter proof instant/sorcery/enchantment/artifact cast hate and it can protect itself

Discard clause a dinosaur that Kess, Dissident Mage, Sidisi, Brood Tyrant and The Mimeoplasm would love to play with in edh

Its the kind of pattern card they keep doing for quite some time.

I hate these cards as "wanna-be" control deck mirror-match finishers , as they are so narrow in what they do.

In pretty much any realistic case this is way worse than a Scarab-God and if you stick it and win with it, the games won anyway.

Its a super annoying card to play against if it works out and its simply never satisfying to play this kind of card (unless ofcourse you play with a bunch of people that dont care and just keep drawing you cards, so you can at least pretend its fun).

Anyway, Pearl Lake Ancient did it before and Aetherling did it pretty much the best, but its the same kind of slot-filler.

Expected a hell lot more from the Elder Dinos.

This could be decent in Mairsil. Looks like Peal Lake in the sense that it is a nice resilient finisher.

such an interesting card, I wonder its likely possible to make a mono-blue Big Creature deck at this point.

i feel like its overwhelmingly mediocre. one of those cards that everyone is like OH MAN ITS GREAT and then a week after release its 50 cents because its actually crap.

Definitely my least favorite of the five, but the power is there. At the very least, this is a 2 for 1 if it eats removal (and it doesn't have to). I really don't want to see any of these elder dinos in limited, so they are justifiably rare. Art is great, and it feels like an epic sea monster. This thing has very polar effectivenes though. It will either give your opponent headaches or it won't do anything, whch may be more frustrating than it's worth. I feel like they could have pushed it a tad more because it won't be a part of the usual dino ramp package.

This is probably a better control finisher than Azor, pretty much killing his chances of seeing play unfortunately. I'm not sure about actual power level, but my guess is that this is far below Aetherling but far above Pearl Lake Ancient as far as this archetype is concerned.

I really like the card. Too bad they didn't give him hexproof, but that would have been overkill with the other two abilities (the card draw and no maximum hand size).

It's not going to see play outside of control decks because no other deck will be casting this thing and still have cards in hand to pitch. However, considering that I routinely Pull for 7+, I love the no maximum hand size thing, and pitching cards is actually often preferably to a mana cost exile ability.

Speaking from an EDH perspective as the commander, it's good but not amazing. Yes it's Mystic Remora on a stick, yes it's a 7/7, but it costs 5UU without having access to G mana. Being able to flicker it in response from removal is nice, but discarding three cards is a very steep cost.

Meh, it's still better than the white one.

The exile cost is steep but if you can do it and then Fumigate then he'll come back and can attack next turn and hopefully the opp won't have any creatures out.
