A decent replacement for Bomat Courier in Ramunap, perhaps. It all depends upon whether you choose to accept the opportunity cost of the exiled cards which you may lose forever (well, at least for the duration of that game) if the artifact creature gets killed.

I think it's better than the artifact guy if Ramunap adapts a pirate subtheme in its build for sure.
I like this, combines two of my favorite goblins (Raging & Fanatic)
I actually like him a lot. He is slightly underpowered for legacy burn but he is a step up from Mogg Fanatic was in that context because of haste. If you need a 9th 1 drop creature over Goblin Guide and Swiftspear, this still falls short but it's much closer than many other cards in that slot have been.
In standard a 1 mana hasty dude to turn on raid seems like it's going to have applications.
Definitely a sweet card. Whoever thinks this could *replace* Bomat Courier is crazy though (even if you need more Pirates). This will very likely get run alongside Bomat Courier, but I can't imagine this being run over Bomat Courier in a mono red deck.

Sometimes those with the most sin cast the first stones.

That is why I said *perhaps*, as in "test it out to see if it could work". I did note that the Courier (no relation to me) is an opportunity cost--if it dies the cards it exiled are gone until the next game. The typical Ramunap curve, without removal, will have 4 cards under the artifact on turn 4; if at that time I use a sweeper to wipe the field of everything except Hazoret (which is really easy to do) that represents. I know Hazoret is good, yes, but Hazoret on her own while you are essentially in topdeck mode may not be good enough if I stabilize with one or two creatures each turn (which midrange decks can do). There have been times when my opponent has lost essential things they needed (and lost)...but there have also been times they were able to cash it in, and finish me off with the new goodies they drew (seriously, a mountain and two copies of Lightning Strike? that sucks)
I guess I experiment more than other people, though.

You are absolutely correct. People unfamiliar with the deck are simply unaware that Courier is one of the most powerful cards in the 75. To play devil's advocate tho, there is a world where a critical mass of pirate support exists. In that world, you may not have the luxury of a non-tribal critter. To your point, and mine, what we're actually doing is talking about a totally different deck. This card's value in a theoretical deck is certainly worth discussing. Swapping Courier for this card in existing builds of RR is not.
I'm... not so sure. It has Haste, so it can swing-hit-and-stick-around the turn it lands, which I'd say is an on-par tradeoff for needing to tap to sac when you do pop it.
I'm not saying it's better or worse per se, but it serves different purposes. This is clearly better for decks that want to trigger raid and decks that benefit from Pirate tribal (like that other red one-drop we've seen from RIX).
At the very least, it's close to Mogg Fanatic, which is more than can be said about a standard one-drop for a loooong time. And for modern decks that were running 4 Mogg Fanatics, now they can approximate running 8.
I know I'm giving a hard look at this for 8Whack. It probably doesn't replace Mogg Fanatic, but it *might* replace Foundry Street Denizen.
Perhaps the question isn't does this replace Bomat Courier in Ramunap Red but rather does this replace soul-scar mage or does Ramunap Red go back to more than 8 one drops? I can hear Falkenrath Gorger screaming "Make me proud!" at this card from the bulk rare box
