This needed a keyword. It’s a Mythic, and yet it screams bulk rare. Think of Rampaging Baloths, a 6/6 for 6, with trample, that spat out landfall 4/4 beast tokens.
Now, this is more along the lines of Mirror-Sigil Seargant, as it floods the board even more with each copy made, but it’s very easy for your opponent to work around. It should have costed 6, though.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
The ETB effect isn't as good as you think it is. He still can be killed by instants on your current turn, and in EDH, he can be killed by instants during other player's turns. What you want to see is "When ~ enters the battlefield, each opponent can't cast instants or sorcery spells until your next turn", which is what Sphinx's Decree also should've been, but perhaps that would've been overkill. As it stands, in EDH at least, he can still be killed by instants the turn he comes down and during other players' turns. At least that's how I read the ability.
Worth reanimating in standard. Maybe with liliana, death's majesty and/or that new enchant creature that's GB.
Seems pretty gross with that new red Dino herald...8 mana is a lot but if you can get it out with like champion of rhonas early you can get like...all the raptors.
Man, my Jori En deck is really going to hate playing against this. Ah well, just counter or bounce it, I guess.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
Do we have a name and number crunch for the set? Does anyone know how many mythics are left to be spoiled?
So we got:
2 planeswalkers
The blue mythic
The green mythic
3 legendary mythics
And the immortal sun
That’s 8 mythics and we usually get 12 in a set (unless we get a transform mythic which I doubt).
I’m thinking we got for the last 4 a white, red, and black mythic and the legendary multicolored dinosaur.
Also we don’t have a number crunch that I found. I was almost thinking of starting one but considering we get the full spoiler Friday I don’t see it really serving that much of a purpose of starting one for 47 hours. We also got a little more than half the rares (not including transforms).
I like that they gave Azor a color weight appropriate for a guild leader.
Behold the Lawbringer's glorious blue beard!

I'm thinking there's no more Dinos besides that one and the title is just a play on Polyraptor's ability.
This wasn't the playable dinosaur I was looking for in standard. It is an absolute bomb in limited though. With that red forerunner and this afterward, you'd make 6 Polyraptor which is Christmasland but whatever.

Would be 12 right?
I play 1 trigger get one (two total), trigger get 2 (four total), triggers twice on all 4 (kills the herald at this point) get 8 more for 12. First raptor has only 4 damage on it.
If the herald sticks around for another iteration there are 4 triggers on 8 dudes but they start dying off and replacing themselves eventually. (Too many math).
Mentioned in other thread but does this go infinite with heroic intervention off the first trigger on raptor hatchling and now this guy? herald is also a tutor for the other half which is redundant. Splash black for the reanimation Jund maybe?

We just got the red mythic, so I guess that makes it 9, unless we're missing one.
I think as a general he's pretty strong in EDH. Built in card advantage and tempo advantage. He prevents players from using Wrath of God effects, or even card advantage effects like Painful Truths and Ponder.
Yes, he can be removed by instants during your next turn or on your other opponents' turns, but you are in blue and white. You have access to Mother of Runes, Spellskite, Dispel, Negate and so much more. If he attacks, you can refill your hand late game which can lead to a victory. He seems strong.

Nope you are right. The red one must of got posted after I wrote this. So now we only have 3 mythics left and I’m really hoping we get the multicolored dinosaur soon.
On a second look, I like the Dino for formats with eternal cardpools(Commander/Casual), as it’s a 2 card combo with Aether Flash. But, does that create an infinite loop that results in a draw?

Yup. I was just thinking about that after mentioning Aether Flash earlier in this thread. There's no decisionmaking, no stopping mechanism. If this guy lands on a battlefield that has an Aether Flash, the game will end in a draw.
Man, Niv would be so jelly if he ever found out one of his fellow paruns was a planeswalker.

yes, if you dont have a way to prevent the damage, counter some ability, get rid of a copy of the dinossaur or the enchantment itself, then yes, the game ends in a draw.
if you can do anything like that, you end up with an arbitrary large number of dinosaurs.

True, but that doesn't stop Contempt on your turn...

I tried to count how many raptors you will get before they will die due to Forerunner's damage... But answer was still "all of them".

Completely ridiculous in limited. Well, there are enchantment-based removal in the set.
It's a linear function of how many damage sources you control

Dunes of Zairo
SHANDALAR
Innistrad - The Darkest Night
~THE RAVNICAN CONSORTIUM~
A Community Set
Commander: Allies & Adversaries
We just got the red mythic, so I guess that makes it 9, unless we're missing one.
(At one point you get into a steady state of 5 dinos each making 5... so in teh end you have 5 dinos with 4 dmg, 5 with 2, ... and 5 with 0 dmg.)
EDIT: ah no, the forerunner dies before that. Still, I think you end-up with 7 5/5 (the original plus 1 + 2 + 3).

UBRKess, Dissident MageUBR - Controlling Dissidents
GRhonas the IndomitableG - Indomitable Four Drops
WUBOloro, Ageless AsceticWUB - Loot & Renanimate
Yep, and then unless the dinos have haste, your opponent gets to gain 7+ life when they Fumigate.
Feel free to tell me yours!

Many thanks to DNC at Heroes of the Plane Studios
And if they don’t have fumigate you win. Love that about this game.
This is a commander card though. I’ll like casting it with Sunbird’s Invocation out or hitting it off a Gishath trigger.
