Golden Guardian4 Artifact Creature — Golem (Rare)
Defender 2: This creature fights another target creature you control. When this dies this turn, return it to the battlefield transformed.
4/4
Gold-Forge Garrison Land (Rare) T: Add two mana of any one color to your mana pool. 4, T: Create a 4/4 colorless Golem artifact creature token.
Pretty sure it's 2 mana to fight, not 4.
As for playability, another limited bomb sure, but seems pretty slow for Standard... But the flip side being paired with Anointed Procession can do some work.
This seems pretty good. You pay 4 mana and it might deter attacks or you can pay an additional mana to make it fight and lose so you can get access to a suped up Ancient Tomb that makes colored mana and doesn't hurt you that also makes 4/4 tokens. There are EDH decks that would want this for sure.
thought this was removal on a stick for a moment, until I read that it has to fight target creature YOU control... makes it rather stranger.
And it will only transform with its fight ability. So to transform it you need something that is bigger or you will be two-for-one yourself. But that land does seem really good. Tap for two mana or to spit out rather big tokens.
If it really only fight creatures you control, this is a lot of hoops and card disadvantage to rebuild your board with 4/4s.
Well, you could transform it by paying 4 to have it fight twice if you have 2/2s or something, but you do lose at least two creatures in the process. I guess the idea is short-term loss for "long-term gain" with the 4/4s you'll be getting from this land.
Wow that's cool. I think people are a bit overvaluing the difficulty of that flip, if it is indeed your part creature, and it is a huge payoff. Oh and a 4/4 for 4 on an artifact creature is a pretty decent rate.
Very RPG. Bonus boss! The transform condition is slightly difficult - you have to have a dude who can kill this, or at least a sac outlet, and ideally you've got something with 5+ toughness or indestructible or something - but the land side is extremely good.
You block with him and another chump, you fight your chump, you die against the attacker (Since it says that it has to die this turn, not during the capacity) and the deal is done without the need of a 4+ force creature.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
I really want this with an altered art depicting Dwemer Centurions from TES.
Interesting card.

What's the most resilient parasite? An idea.
A single idea from the human mind can build cities.

Daretti and Breya both really like this. Making artifact creatures is always good, gives you something to always do, and it's pretty easy to get back. Plus, two extra mana if you're not making tokens is always good.
As for Standard it really depends on what whackyness someone can come up with to make it work. Sure it won't show up anywhere else.
It is super clunky but it may work in the right deck that takes advantage of Enrage to 2 for 1 yourself for profit. I just don't see this seeing much play

What a weird hoop to jump in.
Regardless, this looks like a lot of fun.

Does the "dies this turn" clause requires the fight ability to resolve?
EDIT: I guess the ability needs to resolve to have the dies trigger be on. Too bad.
