The big janky legendaries are one thing but this feels pretty hard like commander intruding on standard because its hard to imagine too many decks that would ever want to put this in a 1v1 list. Its so much worse than silence, albeit not strictly due to timing, and its so incredibly narrow. At least the other similar disruption cards tended to let you resolve things on your own turn, like hope of ghirapur, which this does not. Well at least its not archangel's light
but this really pushes the limits of how little impact a card can have in standard and limited while eating up a rare slot and being generally worthless. At least people could build around one with nothing in janky decks, whereas this is so incredibly niche and reactive yet useless as a hoser in 1v1 when so many better options exist.
This feels so weird as a sorcery. You've got to be really good at reading your opponent or be using lots of Telepathy effects for this to be even reasonably useful.
His magic stops planeswalking, stops instants and sorceries. I really hope Azor's card is as oppressive as he seems to be. Please not another Alhammarret debacle.
If it said, 'Until your next turn each opponent...' Maybe then I could see it providing some leverage in corner cases. As it is though? Its hard for me to reconcile this with sorcery speed. It doesn't do anything when you cast it. Stone nothing. It may not do anything...well...ever.
Could be fun for a control deck to play in EDH. I could see Taigam, Ojutai Master wanting to play this. Playing this on turn 2 or 3 and stopping a green player from Cultivate/Kodama's Reach would be pretty interesting.
I can also imagine a scenario where a token deck like Trostani, Selesnya's Voice would want to play it right before overextending.
Interesting card for sure and not as bad as it might seem. Wish it'd cantrip, but that'd probably be too much tempo advantage.
For a second I thought they were reprinting Sphinx's Revelation, not that it would be entirely unfitting.
This makes me think of detain for opponents. Needs to prevent attacking, blocking, and ability activation to really qualify for that, though.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Wait, that's Azor and Huatli in the same place right? That means that Azor is still alive, right? And that we're going to get to actually meet him in the story? Well I'm stoked!
This card made me have the thought that it's a pre-Dominaria plant. It seriously makes me wonder if suspend or rebound is going to appear in that set, or a noncreature spell mechanic similar to either.

At least Secret Salvage finally has a decent target once the first one has been cast. Also makes a good target for Bloodwater Entity.

Not remotely close. The non-control player still gets to untap, draw, attack, and cast creatures, artifacts, enchantments, and planeswalkers.
That's a fair point.
