Doesn't this mess with the whole Enrage mechanic? Samut is the main way I'm triggering enrage and this just makes that useless.
So far, not so good.
How do you figure? Enrage triggers off any amount of damage. This says it prevents all but 1 of the damage.
It doesn't seem to affect triggering your own enrage with Samut at all, and makes a lot of other effects less risky.

I misread. Disregard my messsge. It's very early over here.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"

try killing a dino on damage. Maybe it is the first time each turn, other wise red decks will strugle to kill this guy ( and keep removal in hand to deal with it)
This card is so good, what are you talking about? I bet you misread it as prevent 1 damage, as pretty much everyone seems to do. I will firstpick this most definitively.

oh i actually did, thanks for the hint
but i still think this card wont have much value
You need to read it a third time
"If a source would deal damage to another dinosaur you control, prevent all but 1 of that damage."
Prevent all but 1 of that damage.
Just protect this one your dinosaurs are next to unkillable Blasphemous Act will fail to sweep your dinosaur tribal board if this dude is on the field
Only way to kill the dinosaurs is 3 sources
1. Killing this dinosaur
2.wrath of Godesc cards
3. Deathtouch.
Dinosaur tribal is looking more than good of getting the missing pieces of the puzzle for commander.
If there's space in a constructed Dino deck for this it's sideboard against heavy red removal and maybe 2 of. Why would you main deck this? T5 is late and it's only preventative vs red/green removal.
Bomb for limited but that's not hard.

Only preventative vs red/green removal you say?
Last I checked, the modern era of this game is focused on and dominated by creature combat. This dinosaur means you win every instance of combat outside of deathtouch creatures.
So, it doesn’t just protect against damage-based removal. It’s protection from them in addition to the near perfect protection against the most common route to winning the game.

So you'd rather run this 3/4 with a trick in your first 60 instead of the other higher quality Dinos? See Carnage Tyrant, Regisaur Alpha, Gishath, Sun's Avatar, Ghalta, Primal Hunger. Between ramp, interactive cards, and threats on a curve I'm saying the value isn't there for the mana cost.
And right now vs Energy you're likely just board stalling and getting overflown.
Also wondering what the hell is it doing in a veranda...
I'm guessing its in the golden city. Most of the art seems to have the action in the city or you can see it in the background.

I definitely didn’t say I would run it in place of any of those cards. That’s a huge logical fallacy to make that conclusion from the comments I made. My point was that it has far more impact than just protection from red and green damage spells.
However, I will say that in an upcoming standard environment, I see dropping this to make combat choices difficult for an opponent without removal handy.

My original statement.
'If there's space' is meant to signify there are better cards you will definitely play over this one.
I stand by my sideboard if at all statement. 5CMC that depends on having a board and is not proactive is not worth it in standard. It is not a curve topper.

Creature — Dinosaur (Rare)

3/4
EDIT: I read this completely wrong. I digress. It's good lol

Also me, 0.1 second later: "...OH."
Now I can use something like Sweltering Suns more efficiently if I have smaller dinosaurs around.
Dunes of Zairo
SHANDALAR
Innistrad - The Darkest Night
~THE RAVNICAN CONSORTIUM~
A Community Set
Commander: Allies & Adversaries
T5/T6 Sweltering Suns seems nice.
This dino makes that just so much better.

This is hilarious. A giant meteor smashes into the earth... and kills everything *except* the dinosaurs. Take that, Chicxulub!
