Just like you're referring to a "damn website" to "know what this stupid card does" during Unstable spoiler season?
Edit: My only concern with this card is what happens twenty years from now when the website gets taken down (or moved and not put back up)? So I'm hoping we are able to snag the list of abilities to use in that horrible, hopefully-unlikely event, so that someone can devise an app (Wizards! Take this hint!) To use with Urza Planeswalker that we can use offline and keep this card from obsolescence.

There's a difference between looking online at a card to see exactly what it is versus interrupting a game to activate a card on a website that you may or may not have connection issues to/be down for maintenance, etc.

It's not like silver-bordered cards are known for their convenience, anyways.
I can't imagine a more suitable way to design an Urza planeswalker, however, I do take issue with something nobody else seems to have raised so far- his loyalty ability numbers are pretty weak. For full chromatic cost, he should have been something like {5 loyalty, +2 / -1 / -8} or even {6 loyalty, +3 / -2 / - 10} to keep those same turn timings but soak up more beats. As just {4 loyalty, +1 / -1 / -6}, Urza can't get around a lone unpumped masterful ninja.
It'll be interesting to see if the abilities will target, because as written you don't even find out what ability you get until the ability resolves. Technically, this should mean none of the abilities target, but as it's silver border I imagine the FAQ will say you "roll" your ability on activation.
And the most legendary character in the old era of magic finally gets his card... and it is just a gag card in a gag set. Good way to piss the vorthos community wizards (or maybe not?)
Any Vorthos with a clue accepted and acknowledged long ago that Urza's power was beyond the scope of a balanced card that could be played in regular Magic, as has MaRo himself stated numerous times. The only reason for being "pissed" over something that we all know isn't going to ever happen is for the sake of melodrama. Give it a rest.

This is very similar to other cards the did that did "random effects". If you played the MicroProse game, there were two notable cards that did random effects: Fairy Dragon and Whimsy (shown in the spoiler for clarification).
The way these cards worked is that the computer would generate a random effect from a list of effects particular to each card. Data miners have already determined what they were. For example, if I want to viably redo Fairy Dragon or Whimsy (let's say with a die roll), this is what I did (if it were reworded like Oracle):
Flying 1GG: Roll a 20-sided die. Faerie Dragon has one of the following effects.
1 - A creature chosen at random gains trample and gets +X/+0 until end of turn, where X is its power. At the beginning of the next end step, destroy that creature if it attacked this turn.
2 - You may tap or untap an artifact, creature, or land chosen at random.
3 - If a creature chosen at random has toughness 5 or greater, it gets +4/-4 until end of turn. Otherwise, it gets +4/-X until end of turn, where X is its toughness minus 1.
4 - A spell or permanent chosen at random becomes green. (Mana symbols on that permanent remain unchanged.)
5 - A spell or permanent chosen at random becomes white. (Mana symbols on that permanent remain unchanged.)
6 - A spell or permanent chosen at random becomes red. (Mana symbols on that permanent remain unchanged.)
7 - Faerie Dragon deals 3 damage to a creature or player chosen at random.
8 - A creature chosen at random gains flying until end of turn.
9 - A creature chosen at random gets +3/+3 until end of turn.
10 - A creature chosen at random gains banding until end of turn. (Any creatures with banding, and up to one without, can attack in a band. Bands are blocked as a group. If any creatures with banding a player controls are blocking or being blocked by a creature, that player divides that creature's combat damage, not its controller, among any of the creatures it's being blocked by or is blocking.)
11 - A spell or permanent chosen at random becomes black. (Mana symbols on that permanent remain unchanged.)
12 - A spell or permanent chosen at random becomes blue. (Mana symbols on that permanent remain unchanged.)
13 - A creature chosen at random can't be regenerated this turn.
14 - If a creature chosen at random has power 2 or less, it is unblockable this turn.
15 - A creature chosen at random gets -2/-0 until end of turn.
16 - Return a creature chosen at random to its owner's hand.
17 - Faerie Dragon deals 1 damage to a creature or player chosen at random.
18 - A creature other than Faerie Dragon chosen at random becomes 0/2 until end of turn.
19 - Exile a creature chosen at random. Its controller gains life equal to its power.
20 - Randomly distribute X -0/-1 counters among a random number of creatures chosen at random, where X is the number of creatures in play.
I was designing a custom set based on this ability but using varying sided dice to mimic the random effect. These cards that used random effects would be double-sided cards. The back of the card would be the pool from which you choose a random effect. For example, the front of the card would mention a random effect. If you were to do that effect, you would turn the card over for reference, roll the specified die, and then do the result. This would be similar to what cards like Goblin Tutor and Strategy, Schmategy do.
I don't think it would be all that impossible to do something like this in the future. It would be cool to have a card do so many effects and if there is no space on the front of the card, we have already used alternate card backs instead of the original one. So it follows that it could probably be used for other things in a design space. That was my reasoning, at least. If Urza is dependent on a website, a similar process could be done where all the options are datamined, and then randomized somehow in the real world.
The only thing that would've made this card even cooler is if it would've had the Head creature type. Like the hydra cards in the first Hero's Path mini-game deck from the Theros block event activities.

Given that the current unlock of the abilities is tied to a specific day, I'm gonna guess that Urza has a different set of abilities on every day of the year
Urza's Head definitely needed to make an appearance. For the sake of the Urza fans though, this shouldn't be the only place his PW card appears. Otherwise it's a waste of a chance to get Urza and of Terese Nielsen art, who clearly paints him amazingly. But yeah, this was definitely awesome to go with his Hot Tub and the other Urza Un-references.
I'ma take a stab at guessing abilities. I think we'll see six possibilities so that for each loyalty ability, players can write them down and roll a d6. These are just my guesses, and I look forward to seeing my hit percentage in a week and a half!
+1:
- Deal 3 damage to up to one target creature (Urza's Rage unkicked and targeting only creatures)
- Each opponent loses X life, where X is the number of cards in their hand more than you have in your hand (Dark Suspicions sorta kinda?)
- You gain 1 life for each artifact you control (sorta kinda Urza's Chalice)
- Look at target player's hand (or possibly a random card from their hand). Draw a card. (Peek, but more specifically Urza's Bauble).
- Up to one target creature gains your choice of Banding, Flying, First Strike, or Trample until end of turn (Urza's Avenger)
- Add C to your mana pool for each permanent you control with "Urza" in its name (riff on the Urzatron...possibly strong enough it has to be a minus ability?)
-1:
- Choose one - assemble a contraption, or reassemble a contraption.
- You may sacrifice an artifact. If you do, search your library for an artifact and put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle your library (Tinker)
- You gain an emblem with "Whenever a source would deal damage to you or a planeswalker you control, prevent 1 of that damage" (Urza's Armor)
- You gain an emblem with "T: Draw a card" (Urza's Blueprints
- Each player draws 2 cards, then discards 3 cards, then loses 4 life. Then you draw another card (Urza's Guilt, with upside)
- Roll a six-sided die. Put +1/+1 counters on up to one target creature equal to the result, and that creature gains Trample, Vigilance, Haste, and Banding until end of turn. (more like Urza's Science Fair Project)
-6:
- Assemble 6 contraptions, then move the Sprocket counter and crank the Contraptions on that sprocket.
- Put up to six unique permanent cards with "Urza" in their name from your hand, library, or outside of the game onto the battlefield. Then shuffle your library.
- Each opponent reveals their hands. Then, you may put up to six artifact cards from any player's hands onto the battlefield under your control.
- Urza Planeswalker deals 10 damage to up to six target creatures or players. This damage can't be prevented.
- All non-creature artifacts you control become 6/6 creatures with Banding, Flying, First Strike, Vigilance, and Trample until end of turn.
- Roll a six-sided die. Put that many loyalty counters on Urza Planeswalker, and you may activate his loyalty abilities that many additional times this turn.

If the website's down, a fun way to use him could be to make a pile of cards with every planeswalker printed and shuffle 'em up facedown. Choose a loyalty ability on Urza and flip the top card of the pile to have Urza use the corresponding ability on the flipped planeswalker.
Like If I chose Urza's first ability (his +1) and flip a random Chandra, Pyromaster, Urza users her first ability and deals 1 damage to target player and 1 damage to up to one target creature that player controls. That creature can't block this turn.
You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. I can't wait till I can play my bicycle land out, thus making me heckbent, while I have Nessie on the field. You know, so I can attack with my Pervert.

It's like Momir Basic for planeswalker abilities!
Not only is this a smart way to do Urza sans internet connection, but now I want this to be how he works - it just randomly gives you a "+" or "0" ability from all printed 'walkers if you +1 him, it randomly grants a minus ability if you -1 him, and it randomly ultimates if you -6 him.

Over the years, I've gathered a number of books, articles, cards, whatever that reference websites. In every case, the website disappears. Heck, one of my kids has a book on the required reading list and there is a chapter that directly references a website. What the heck? I get it, no one wants to shell out $X a year once the token item is no longer making money but companies need to stop doing this.
Considering how many dead links exist out on the tubes because WotC reorganized their site, I can imagine askurza.com won't be sticking around for the next 25 years.
And the most legendary character in the old era of magic finally gets his card... and it is just a gag card in a gag set. Good way to piss the vorthos community wizards (or maybe not?)
I am a hardcore Vorthos, and I'm not pissed at all (yet). See below...
Literally no serious Urza card could ever satisfy Urza fanboys.
...and this is why. For like 10 years, whenever I heard a fellow Vorthos say that they want an Urza planeswalker card, I always said that such a card would inevitably be a disappointment because it simply wasn't possible to narrow down such a complex character with such a rich background into a card with three abilities (not to mention the over-the-top expectations of the players and fans). "Wizards are obviously well aware of this, that's why they haven't printed him", I said.
But this is promising... I guess if there's ever been a chance for an Urza card that's not a flavor and power-level fail, this is it. Granted, we're not there yet: the abilities have to make sense to make us all happy. Fingers crossed.
I think this makes sense because Urza was all-powerful wasn't he? Having this to represent the plethora of abilities available to him is fine. I hope it's like 30 abilities and when you click it's a random algorithm that changes them.
Wholeheartedly agreed. I actually think this might be a flavor home run.
I just hope there aren't too many abilities: 10 to 30 would be OK. But if it's like a hundred... that's just too much for anyone to note down, and we'll all be dependent on the website and therefore internet connection.
Also, as much as I enjoy all this silver-bordered wackiness, I kinda kope the abilities will actually be black border viable so that my playgroup lets me play this.
Unless WotC goes out of their way to make our lives miserable, someone is going to crawl AskUrza.com and catalogue whatever is there. Hopefully WotC will realize this and let us snag all the abilities in one go or package it up into something a little cleaner to consume.
