MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

That thought crossed my mind too. It would be nice to see her again, since I like her noncreature spell theme and find the character herself somewhat interesting.
It looks quite a lot like her, although the lack of glowing eyes and long hair makes it hard to be certain. I'm reasonably sure it IS her though.
Certainly possible. Though my first guess is Linessa, the Zephyr Mage back from Future Sight.
Linessa does make sense too. I guess we'll see at least some of the Future Sight legends in this set
Those are specifically Jaya's goggles, and she's doing the same streaks-from-fingers trick that's on Task Mage. I'm not sure what other conclusion one is supposed to draw.
Also, Jaya interacted with Lim-Dul, right? That idea is becoming more and more interesting...
Finally, Magic the Gathering feels like it’s ‘Gathering’, allies enemies. Often it’s the seeking of allies old and new that’s more awesome and epic than the ensemble itself.

The elves do look like those of Deep Shadow, but the face strap on the central figure harks back to the original Llanowar Elves art.
That's probably what that art is for, in all honesty. A reprint of Llanowar Elves.
Imagine that art with the iconic flavor text, "One bone broken for every twig snapped underfoot." It fits so well.
Didn't they create Elvish Mystic specifically to replace Llanowar Elves because they didn't like the plural on a 1/1 creature?
And honestly I doubt they'll reprint either.
They have repeatedly stated that they don't want unconditional cc1 dorks at the moment, as it restricts the powerlevel of their 3drops too much.
Well it is more of a hope than anything combined with the fact that people would be pretty disappointed if we didn't see the return of one of the most iconic creatures in MTG, let alone a card that is iconic for Dominaria and could only be printed in a planar set here on this plane.
Also that decision on 1cc dorks was made a fee years ago and with all the flip flopping Magic has been doing recently I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Llanowar Elves again even if it is just for this special occasion. Especially since it would be a pretty hype card because of that decision combined with our return to Dominaria.

I can see Llanowar Elves being reprinted in Masterpiece section...
rather than a reprint i think wotc would most likely make an update/reference. i've got dozens of llanowar elves and i don't really need more. children of llanowar, descendents of llanowar, heirs to llanowar would be better. a 1/1 for 1 that taps to add GG if a requirement is met. they can make it splashy but within reason.
I remember being so excited when Commander 2014 was announced with Teferi, Temporal Archmage and the promise of a planeswalker commander for each of the five colours. Like many I immediately hoped for more Dominaria-era 'walkers that had never gotten cards - Freyalise for green, Serra for white, Leshrac for black and of course Jaya Ballard for red. The Ice Age block books were by far my favourite MtG tie-in novels, and seeing her growth in The Eternal Ice and The Shattered Alliance, including the final reveal of her spark, was amazing. I was so disappointed when we didn't get a Jaya Ballard planeswalker card in C14 - even if Jaya Ballard, Task Mage is almost a proto-Planeswalker card. Re-he-heally hoping that this means we finally get a proper Jaya Ballard planeswalker card.

Considering she's a canon planeswalker, it's a pretty safe bet we'll get her as a Planeswalker card. That is unless they come up with some reason for her to no longer have a spark (her supposed death as implied by Jodah -- assuming it wasn't some alternate-timeline shenanigans -- could have been an event that cost her her spark, similar to Teferi exhausting his to close the rift over Shiv).

It had more to do with the fact that Llanowar is unique to Dominaria. I mean it's awkward enough they had to create Fyndhorn Elves because they had a story on another continent within Dominaria.
Wizard rep comments always are in regards to the current year of printings from what I've observed. If they say they aren't printing 1 cmc mana dorks they really mean they aren't releasing any in the current years line-up. Not saying they are reprint Elvish Mystic, but they may be reprinting Elves of Deep Shadow or a similar card.

It's not just the stained glass,
it's also the purple-grey-gold color scheme.
I'm not complaining, though- the Orzhov aesthetic may be my favorite in all of M:tG.
