So the first two keywords to choose for MM would be Hexproof and Indestructible (is that a keyword now? They seem to go back and forth...) depending on whether they're targeting MM? Triple Strike and Lifelink would likely be up there too...

When keywords have a qualifier or cost (e.g. Protection, Annihilator, Afflict, Madness) how do you chose what it is? Is "Protection from Black" a different keyword from "Protection from Instants"? This is gonna be a nightmare to deal with. Cool idea though.

But then what, and what about game 2?
Well, how many times are you going to be playing a 7-mana artifact creature in your games?
That said, there are many options. I just see it as being costed as if it had Indestructible. (Darksteel Gargoyle, the Flash Vigilance one, etc.)

It was mentioned in the article, but Protection from Black and Protection from Instants are both Protection, so you can't just keep picking types of protection. Similarly, Soulshift 4 and Soulshift 7 are both Soulshift.

Thanks, hadn't read the article. I guess with regards what the modifiers are you can pick any that have been printed? So no "Poisonous 10"?

Correct, hence the clause "has been printed on a card"

Well, the card doesn't make it clear that that refers to the modifier as well as the keyword. And even if it is a logical inference, the faint hope of getting away with "Poisonous 10" makes it worth asking
Target Minotaur..? Perhaps I'm missing some other joke there, but if that actually is a conscious reference to a joke article in an ancient issue of Inquest, I raise my hat to the designers.
its not stated in the article whether the number part of the keyword has to be printed (just that you can give it repeats of the same). Hexproof, Annihilator 6, Indestructible, Protection from Everything, Afflict 6, Prowess, Deathtouch, Trample, Lifelink, Flying, Transfiqure, Absorb...It goes on, just pre-write a list in-case you need it. The Big question is, it says today does that mean through multiple games?

The thing is that "looses all abilities" clause basically means you are paying 7 for a 3/3 with occasional upside.
A friend of mine pointed out that you can get some interesting effects from the more odd Cumulative Upkeep cards. Thinks like "cumulative upkeep: draw a card" or "cumulative upkeep: Gain control of a land you don't control"

Unless you are severely intoxicated, that clause should never come into play. When you cast this, you should be ready with your keywords. First hexproof, then indestructible, then annihilator 6, then protection from creatures, then lifelink I guess, etc.

I dunno if I'd want to go all in like that, particularly on the defensive stuff (hexproof, indestructible, protection [which you might as well go for "everything" instead of "creatures"]). Keep some stuff for the next game. I'd always try to keep a few weak or even useless ones (Forecast!) in mind for those times when you don't need anything else to see out the game
It took me 1.47 seconds to say "Hexproof, indestructible, triple strike, trample."
I don't think the hard part is maintaining it, but rather picking useful keywords by your third game or so. It's easy if you're allowed a piece of paper, I guess. I think I'll try it off the top, seems more fun that way.

My apologies, children, for I am afraid I cannot save you all.
More to come?

"Bands with Other? Why are you play... WAIT."
