Any joke its trying to do is completely destroyed by the fact how annoying it is to play with it or against it.

This is not a fun card, in no line, and nowhere.
----
A much more funny design would have been a card that requires a six-sided die to roll and choose that many instead of just 2 and than have a lot of options to choose from (maybe a card similiar to Greater Morphling, just as a spell, that would be "very cryptic" indeed).
I'm trying to see the joke here... I don't get it. Unless this card gets a special foiling process that reveals some secret, I dunno. The art isn't even that special, it's cryptic command + a goblin.
"The Other Cryptic Command" may have been a better name for it.

A theory that has been going around the 'webs for this card is that maybe the Foil version will be textless, kinda like Foil Kaya, Ghost Assassin had alt art. That would be a very cool joke TBH, but ultimately not worth the unfun, boring effects that can soft-lock those using basics.
Yeah, I don't get what this card is trying to be. Had it been full art, then sure, it would've been a somewhat amusing joke, but as it is, it's nothing.
Possible theory: maybe there will ve miltiple versions of the card with slightly different text?? That would actually be kind of funny, if all versions are ALMOST the same but have some key differences that make them play very different. That would fit the joke that no one can remember the exact wording of cryptic command

That would be amazing but I don't think they're that advanced with this stuff.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
You know, I actually don't mind cards like Amateur Auteur where the joke is entirely in its name, art, or flavor text. Especially if it smooths out the drafting process. (Honestly, in previous Un sets having every single card do something weird could sometimes get exhausting.)
But this card, I guess I don't get the joke? Cryptic Command isn't that difficult to understand, it was really when they decided to print a text-less version of it that it became a joke. Very Cryptic Command isn't all that difficult to understand either, unlike say Ambiguity where you will probably at least read it twice. Plus if somebody manages to get two of them, oh boy, how unfun and not in a good way.
Also, to the poster mentioning it would be restricted in vintage, it wouldn't. It doesn't do anything relevant there. I can explain why if you're actually interested.

Not their Snow-Covered Plains etc.
Finally a good white villain quote: "So, do I ever re-evaluate my life choices? Never, because I know what I'm doing is a righteous cause."

Would have been fun to see return target instant or sorc in OPPONENTS graveyard to your hand
Trap your friends in an endless game with this 23-card combo!
Yep. You just tap all their basic lands in their upkeep and return the second copy to your hand to do it every turn.
This card seems like the opposite of fun/funny.

At least the art will still be used for one of the Ultrapro Unstable Products

I'm still not sure on the Auteur one. Is there actually a joke there?
I don't dislike it, but I am confused.
EDIT: Also, MaRo stated that there's no "foil" jokes.
