It's interesting that you can destroy a contraption and then assemble your own. And there are artifact creatures in blue-white, so there are some matchups where this will just be great.
As an assembler, I like it better than anything we've seen so far assuming you're in the matchup where it's live. If you only draft one quality contraption, I could easily see this being a quality card to pull it out that doesn't drag your deck down any, which means its power level can be reliably high.
I think it's disappointed that augments aren't(?) enchantments because that'd be another big thing to nab.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
The moment you understand that Contraptions are ARTIFACTS makes this card a hell lot stronger, as you can actually destroy them (which otherwise would probably provide them a steady stream of effects and bonus abilities).
Destroying artifacts might be really really good in this set.
I don't know, Slice in Twain and Viridian Corrupter were strong first picks during the Scars block. In fact, my first thought was Slice in Twain. (Four mana, and "assemble a contraption" is a sorta-cantrip, from a different deck.)

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

How many draft formats are the "Destroy target enchantment" card usually the force? This card made me giggle.
It would have only been better if it "Destroy target creature with flying" instead.
And I'm glad you are a Monkey Woman too.

I was more thinking of http://heyarnold.wikia.com/wiki/Monkeyman_(character)
but that works too.
