*pounds fist on desk* Doubling Season! Doubling Season!
Also Rings of Brighthearth. And the Mirrodin swords. And Ancestral Vision. And Archangel of Thune, and Elvish Piper, and maybe the legendary Eldrazi...
Those new arts for the Kamigawa dragons are GORGEOUS. I love them, they feel much, much... bigger, more imposing than the old arts. Having landcscapes in background really adds a sense of grandeur here.
That card only sees play on VINTAGE and on some multiplayer commander lists. Blergh.
EDIT: I like how my posts are in stark opposition to MrMime133 back-to-back, heh.
Seriously what is wrong with some of you. They could give out gold bullion and some would *****.
Oh yeah, please tell me in how many decks that so needed reprint will slot in.

I don't consider it value when a limited print run set with super inflated booster prices sticks in 1-2 $100+ cards and 3-4 $50+ cards and the rest are $5-, especially when some are banned/not legal in multiple formats and the others have been overly-reprinted half a dozen times. If you have the money to waste on inflated MTG lottery, I am not stopping you. But don't expect these super-rare and expensive sets to lower prizes on the reprint by any significant amount.
Far happier with them at rare than at mythic. Maybe I'll finally get my Kokusho - limited supply always kept its price disproprtionatly above what I was willing to pay to use it. I want it, but I don't fifteen-dollars want it.

It is not just about which list you are others are running now. Vintage is dead yes but Commander is not and is arguably the most popular format right now. Commander lists are not running Drain because it is a super high dollar card. When the price goes down and people have access it will be in literally tons of EDH decks. You tell me how many blue based EDH decks don't want Mana Drain?

Just like everyone is running mana crypt after the printing of eternal masters right? It sure dropped in price and helped everyone get the card and... oh wait.
It dropped from a 150 dollar card to a 60 dollar card. And it was increeeedibly rare before. Can't see how this will make the card more affordable for the everyday commander player.

One thing we do know is that the majority of the set will be around angels, demons, hydras, dragons, and sphinxes. You may see of few of the cards you mentioned reprinted.

Yeah, I know, but they're also including other iconic cards, including creatures that are none of those (such as Primeval Titan), so I can dream. And Archangel of Thune is an angel. On that note, getting a proper reprint of Avacyn, Angel of Hope would be great, as well as Sigarda's first card. Khalni Hydra as well, and Kalonian (though at least that showed up in C16). And I agree with the person who mentioned Balefire Dragon. I'd like Furyborn Hellkite and Thunderbreak Regent as well for dragons, but given that those are only about $2 each, it's not a huge priority.
I mean, thundermaw and lord of the pit are certainly iconic cards, but they're also pretty bad cards to reprint. Where do they see play? Nowhere, that's where.
Please stop wasting slots on cards that don't deserve to be reprinted (differently from prime time, that sees play in modern and duel commander).
Set is called "iconic masters".
Players complain that iconic cards are reprinted in it.
All five dragons for Kamigawa, all with new art, at rare.
So this would be the first fail of the set for me, I love the Kamigawa Dragon Cycle but that new art seems like a clear downgrade to me, this could mark the first time I'd ever be sad to open up another Kokusho.
Edit: This leads me to wonder why would WotC go market this set as Iconic and then go out of its way to make these Iconic cards unrecognizable to the player base, seems like an oxymoron.
The artworks are in large parts actually homages to the original artworks. Especially Jugan and Kokusho have the same pose and composition and Yosei has a similar pose as well, though a different angle and direction. The only ones that stand out are Ryusei and Keiga, and while I prefer Keiga's original artwork, Ryusei's original artwork never appealed to me and the new one looks more powerful.

Except you need to actually pull back the price chart to when EMA was released (bar at the bottom of the price chart). Mana Crypt was going for right around $170 for the original version before the reprint, now its under $100 for that version. The EMA version started in pre-sales at $130, dropped down to $60 and has since recovered to $75. Which is still less than half of the price of the original mana crypt before EMA was released. I would say the reprint succeeded quite well at increasing supply and reducing price accordingly. Reprints can and do lower the price of cards in the time after the release of the reprint set. Even for mythics in such masters sets. Karakas as another poster mentioned is another good example of old cards getting reprints. Mana Drains from iconic masters should be significantly lower than the current legends prices are, and with the increased supply will provide more opportunities for those interested in the card to be able to get them to use in their decks (Whether commander or otherwise).

Never change, MtG playerbase.
How about iconic and playable masters? Is it that hard to print both? I would argue that cards that see play are usually more iconical than cards that don't.

That's a very significant drop, despite a reprint at mythic in a limited release, high cost booster product.

mana crypt
and damnation repinted at rare again $20 is still slightly too exspensive

Honestly, I'd rather it be uncommon. But I would be happy to see it regardless.
