The green DFC enchantment transforms into a Cradle version, as expected.
And green tribal and token EDH players rejoiced. (And the flip requirement is particularly trivial. I mean, seriously, all I have to do is play Deranged Hermit. With Ghave, Marath, or a fair Prossh, my commander can even do the heavy lifting.)
Bonus: It can tap for G after a wrath.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

It's technically a strictly better Gaea's Cradle. I am very happy and hope I open one in my first 50 packs (booster box, two planeswalker decks, and a bundle).

So.... we have a black enchantment that turns into a B-producing land that reprints the ability of the Reserved List Elephant Graveyard. And we have a green enchantment that turns into a G-producing land that reprints the ability of the Reserved List Gaia's Cradle.
I am betting we have three more surprises coming that turn into lands that reprint Reserved List land effects.
Tabernacle? Library of Alexandria? Mishra's Workshop? Tolarian Academy?
Sure but that removes the mana cost, the creature requirement and the fact that it flips on end step so you don't get to use it during a mainphase until the turn after it flips
Just so we settle the discussion right here: original cradle is better than this enchantment. Period. You can play it and use it right away, you can more easily find it with land tutors on green (while enchantment tutors on green are conditional to looking at the top x card) and it is obviously easier to exploit the legendary rule with original cradle.
This enchantment, however, is pretty good. Being 'worse than cradle' does not say much about the power level of a card, since cradle is one of the strongest magic cards ever printed.

So what is Magic Arena, after all? I missed most of the stream and the articles are quite nebulous.
To me it sounds like a new digital-only format (or multiple formats, since you can also draft apparently) starting with the sets that are currently in Standard.

Think Magic's version of Hearthstone. Easy to pick up and play, full Magic ruleset, card animations, will support standard and drafts at beginning(i'm assuming with the ability to expand to other formats with time) all in all, a solid idea.

True, but it is still crazy powerful, and the effect of the enchantment portion is not trivial. It is a damn good card that is going to become a staple in green creature based decks in commander, and quite possibly in Standard and Modern as well.

The card is much worse than Gaea's Cradle, I thought this would be obvious? Gaea's Cradle doesn't cost any mana to play...
It's probably still good though, makes me wonder if it's good enough for modern. It has to cut it in elves I'd say.
MTG arena looks terrible. Visually, I mean. Just so terribly generic. I'll probably still try it out, but it looks meh so far. Also no modern is a big minus.
That flip card is going to be worth about near the same value as snapcaster Mage
Not tarmogoyf because it's not going to be expedition rare.

No one is saying it isn't powerful, this is bull***** moving the goalposts, bad practice to fall into.

No, just no. It is good, but not THAT good.
How
This is like instantiously easy to tell it will be a standard/modern/commander usable
Standard for dinosaur Ramp
Modern for elf decks
Commander...any deck with green
And now I'm officially wagering the flip cards are going to be slightly rarer than than mythics (not expedition rare tough which was this going to be.)
Assuming Growing Rites of Itlimoc is actually a rare as the symbol indicates, I'll surprised if it's much above $10 based on recent Standard-legal rares.
Does any Modern deck really want a build-your-own-Cradle for 2G?
In both Modern and Commander, Xenagos, the Reveler is arguably better. And that's about $5.

Yes, because Modern can't use the original cradle. This is going to be the money rare of the set as it is going to get played, a lot.

I could see it Modern Elves but not really in any other Modern deck. Dropping it on turn two off a dork and transforming it during the end step of turn three might be good enough for Elves.
As far as Standard goes, Gaea's Cradle wasn't that amazing in Urza's/Masques Standard, though it certainly was played. Of course, that was a powerful Standard and creatures are better now.
