Hmm...Fungusaur always reminded me of Mossdog; Fungus Lizard and Plant Hound, respectively. And there are a ton of big green things in Mirrodin that could be dinosaurs.
Now, what about Jund dinos?

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

Thrinaxes are not dinosaurs. There are no Dinosaurs on Alara, that is the official word.
As for the firebeast, we where talking about potential dinosaurs. If Ashen Firebeast where to become a dinosaur, it may be a little to powerful compared to what it is now. Because we've been getting Dino-fetching spoiled in Ixalan.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
Can someone tweet at them Dragon Engine (Dragon Constuct), Spitemare (Elemental Horse), Wispmare (Elemental Horse). These are all recently relevant.
Dragon Engine is especially egregious as they have printed no less than four other dragon engines with the dragon creature type (Henge Guardian, Draco, Tek, and Ramos, Dragon Engine respectively) since its initial printing. Heck Henge Guardian originally represented Ramos in the story.

And you entirely miss my point. We have had multiple cards that get dinos out of your library spoiled in Ixalan. Add to that the sheer amount of creature fetch already available in Commander, and you end up with the ability to fetch out the firebeast exactly when you need it instead of having to jump through hoops to get the pieces of your combo. It would be making it much easier to pull of the combo is all I am saying.

Priest of the Waking Sun and Gishath? You can alreay tutor for it in moreefficientways even if it's not a dinosaur. Adding 2-3 suboptimal tutors to the big amount of good tutor already here... won't get much. Even because the precious dino tutors will be usually used to get Wakening Sun's Avatar. And even because the combo isn't a combo. Ashen Firebeast alone doesn't do anything. You need at least Ripjaw Raptor and Ranging Raptors to do something, even better if you add Sun-Crowned Hunters and Bellowing Aegisaur. Tha would just be a tribe functioning, dragons and elves for example can do way worse with 4 creatures or that amount of mana.
Really i don't get why the chance of having a relevant to be errataed, instead of just a bunch of french vanilla, scares you so much.
As a player that runs an Sidisi, Undead Vizier combo deck with a T4/5 kill my perspective may be a little skewed, but the way I see it Firebeast, Raptor Hatchling, Cathars' Crusade, Mana Echoes may be the best option available to the Firebeast centric dino deck which is 4 cards, al fairly expensive, but it is infinite mana/creatures (who are arbitrarily large). It's cute but it's no Splintertwin combo.
Despite what Kelly said I think ashen firebeast will still have a chance
Because there's probably people their who probably will disagree with his "too weird" thing.
I certainly disagree with it. It's a friggin raptor, that is on fire. It's no more weird than a sauropod composed of burning rock, or a dinosaur in a symbiotic relationship with a fungus.

That's what Kelly thinks about ashen firebeast
I think ashen firebeast deserves dinosaur type easily. It has a theorpod body easily.

Indeed. His reluctance makes me believe they have a set in the pipeline where it is reprinted. It'd be a little weird if the change it to Elemental Dinosaur and then release a set wherein it is a Elemental Beast.

I know is there something wrong with calling it "elemental dinosaur beast?"

So is the lizard creature type relegated only to tiny ones now? So yeah, Lathnu Sailback is easy, but what about something like Plated Crusher? Is it a dinosaur, or is it just a big ole lizard? And where is the line? What feature, exactly, separates the two?

Plated Crusher is neither a Dinosaur nor a Lizard. It's a Beast. Don't try to logic with Magic creature types.
Pyrohemia costs half that and is activated for half that.
Pteron Ghost isn't a dinosaur, but if a synapsid can be a "dinosaur"...
