So far we have ONE dinosaur that costs 3 and ONE that costs 4. Everything else is 5+. This looks more like a kitchen table tribe to me. By the time you start getting dinos into play, I'll have an entire pirate crew assembled and they will be waiting to make those dinos Walk the Plank. Regisaur Alpha isn't swimming anywhere with those tiny arms.
There's nothing wrong with the dinosaurs and several look playable, but man have they been dull and uninspired design. They could literally have put these same texts and abilities on any creature.
This is exactly the reason why they didn't want to do dinosaurs, "they don't do anything." It's just the coolness of dinosaurs that sets them apart, not anything mechanical.

I know right? I've needed Dragon Engine to be a Dragon forever.
Maybe since it didn't receive actual wording like Teeka's Dragon it didn't get the subtype. But it's clearly a dragon construct. Maybe when Oracle gets updated with Ixalan's release it'll be updated along with it. Or maybe when Oracle gets updated with oracle wordings for Unglued and Unhinged when Unstable comes out.

Wow just wow wizard's your laziness never ceases to amaze me and this Dino update confirms it. There are so many cards you could of changed but didn't, for crying out loud you missed Pteron Ghost my guess was cause it wasn't a lizard and you didn't even bother to search beyond that type. Between this and the fail of olf lore in the commander podcast you did, nothing really surprises me anymore wth how lazy the company has become.
I've been saying that about Dragon Engine since Henge Guardian got the dragon type. Henge Guardian is just an oversized Dragon Engine after all (and used to represent Ramos).
However, the changes still haven't gone live in Gatherer, so there is hope.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
I honestly think that all dinosaurs should have simply been Lizard Beasts, same as all nagas should have been snakes. This is parasitic and harms existing tribes (and also gives them nothing).
Mechinaclly they remind me a lot of the Beast tribal support in Onslaught block, but I think "lizard beast" would have been a flavor fail. Ultimately these remind me of Baloths in that they don't have much mechanically to spereate them from other big bad beastly species, but it's worth defining the differences and establishing a long-called-for tribe.

WotC isn't lazy. They're just too busy churning out ways for us to spend money that no product gets the attention to detail it deserves anymore.

There are at least two ramp cards at 2cc for Dino decks. Obviously Pillar of Origins for any tribal deck. And Drover of the Mighty, which becomes 3/3 with a dino in play. That ONE dino at 3cc slows down vehicle crews.
This card Regisaur Alpha is great top deck, and tribal haste improves your top decks thereafter. Two creatures is harder to kill with direct removal than just one creature. Even the token can attack right away, and so does every dinosaur played after. Leading to continuous barrage of attackers.

The fact that they printed a 2/2 dinobear in the Planeswalker deck is a pretty good sign that they're planning this tribe to include at least the mid-to-lower end of the mana curve. They might not have 1 drops, but they can have 2s.
Too bad it doesn't have haste himself, yet you can still tap it to crew your Conqueror's Galleon
I mean... A giant dinosaur at the helm of a galleon thant then turns into a land
Just need to add Jesus riding the damn thing and you have a solid winner
I was not sarcastic what so ever kind of embarrassing for me I guess :/
And looking on that list
WHAT?!? Macetail Hystrodon is a mammal...no no no no, it resemble the ankylosaurus how on earth is it a mammal?
Oh I also say something else
There's three under review now regel behemoth is under review now.
Pretty sure the Hystrodon is based of a species of Glyptodon, a prehistoric mammal. Of course, if you feel that it is based of an ankylosaurid, feel free to suggest it to Kelly Digges.

Seems a lot worse than Broodmate Dragon or Armada Wurm despite the superior mana cost... it would have been much better if the smaller token creature didn't get all the juice. As it stands there are very few dinosaurs that make me care about boosting other dinosaurs.
It would have been better if you had 7 power coming in hot at 5 mana?
Not what I meant... I think the initial rush of "This card is incredible!"is way off base though. At 5 mana it's pretty lackluster, in large part because the vanilla 4/4 body is unimpressive. It's total P/T ratio is great, but trample is weak on a 3/3, so the haste is really it's best selling point, and compared to Glorybringer it just falls short in almost every way.
It's best shot at being playable is dino tribal... and there are currently a few mediocre dinosaurs and no great ones, so I'm dubious that such a deck will be a thing.
Respectfully, I think your opinion is bad and you should feel bad.
Two bodies, one with trample and another granting a static effect, and still you find it weak? Card is probably good enough to be played outside of dino tribal in standard.
Losing to Glorybringer is a real problem in this meta. Although, this at least leaves behind a body

Its strong, playable, but not stupid broken.
It wont rot in a box.

Crested Sunmare isn't supposed to be some horse tribal "lord". In fact the horse creature type was chosen because the creature type is so rare.

It's probably a variation of Glyptodon rather than an ankylosaurid.

(As a matter of fact I was the one who figured it out of what it does.)
As for older cards getting dinosaur all of those I pretty much exspected
But errors made mostly ones forgotten
Biggest misses
Somewhat missed
Honorable mentions
Thunderfoot Baloth the one and only baloth that had a chance at this
Ashen Firebeast look closely you'll notice the body resembles the theropods
Realm Razer you will notice it has a simular body to Wakening sun's avatar
Would have loved it if Gahiji, Honored One got it but it was a long shot to begin with due to some of the body parts he has.
Too bad there's no way to contact them That they missed a couple.
Then again they may just reprint the ones not mentioned in "ixalan"/"rivals of ixalan."
