I wish the art was a lightning bolt taking off the mast of a ship. It's a little weird for it to just be ...really specifically electrocuting that guy.
I'm glad it's back, I guess, even if the art's not quite as good.
at common u can pick up to 8 easyly on a draft and its not that dificult actually ( try first picking a good/ok commum removal and grabing it whenever u can....) ( sometimes u will not pick much more than 4 but it is possible ) Yes if the limited is a bit more slow than normal, then it as a commum would be really bad for all the guys doing agroo.
A reprint at a higher rarity will not affect constructed, soo let wizards do its job to balance limited...

Please let me know who you play Limited with that would allow a Lightning Strike to go beyond third pick. If you're saying that you can have 8 Strikes in a pod, I guess that's possible, but not very likely. EV is around 2.4, and the actual distribution is quite difficult to determine given the not-very-random packs...
Anyway, this seems designed to prey on Pirates and Merfolk. The Vampire token strategy seems much more like a traditional RDW (interchangeable parts, don't care if a single creature dies, etc.) and Dinosaurs are too big.
Frankly, this seems to be designed to be Dinosaur decks' early game. This + Abrade + the deal 3 damage to everything seems like a very strong precursor to dropping Dinosaurs. The deal damage to everything also works very well to trigger Enrage.
We've arrived, guys. 3 unconditional damage to a critter or to the face at instant speed that's less than 3 mana is a thing in Standard again.
So, it turns out not having removal to break up everyone's combo-y shenanigans is a Bad Thing. Who knew?

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

I mean, we had Grasp and Push and Abrade and Harnessed. We weren't lacking for 2-or-less cost instant removal. People are happy with this because it can go to the face as well. Which is nice utility, but it doesn't provide us any different means of breaking up combo shenanigans than the cheap instant removal pre-XLN-standard already had.
Okay, fairly true about Harnessed and maybe Push, since I'm really complaining about Kaladesh being OMGWTFBBQ. And the real problem was artifacts. But my point remains: Weaken control at your peril.

The sparkmage shrieked, calling upon the rage of the storms of his teens. To his surprise, the skies responded with a fierce energy that was good enough, he supposed.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Yea this is pretty great in limited. A standard where RDW is strong is a good format IMO and this supports it.
Every deck will be rdw, g/r and g/r/x variants. Red has the most efficient and versatile removal of any of the colors, especially when compared to crap removal like Walk the Plank and Vraska's Contempt. Wizard's design team has dropped the ball and has placed all of the best removal into one color.
I'm glad it's back, I guess, even if the art's not quite as good.
Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.

Modern:
RG Titanshift. A deck made of cards too stupid for EDH.
Retired: Lots. More than I feel you should suffer through or I should type out.

lol, yeah I'll be playing the old THS version of this card. I quite like that artwork.

I play Standard, EDH, and a very tiny bit of Modern.

That's it, though. Fatal push is a great card in modern, but not so much in standard.
I was going to try out u/b control after the rotation, but won't now with so little good black removal.
