I wouldn't say Akroma having trample is much of an argument because that card was made to hit a critical mass of keywords to wow players because the card was the face of a set.
Mono-white getting trample is a huge stretch no matter how you spin it or look at older cards. Could have had trample? Maybe but this is a ridiculous game-swinging card already, it definitely doesn't need to be more powerful.
If it had trample or double strike it would essentially be game over in limited and casual play if the opponent doesn't have a removal spell there and then. Since this won't be seeing competitive play at that CMC no need to make it oppressive in the environments where it will see play.
Didn't they.JUST say that they would start having a daily handful of cards a C/U in spoiler season? One huge cost rare for the day seems to fly in the face of what they said

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
Putting this beside Burning Sun's Avatar and Verdant Sun's Avatar, I'm wondering why this isn't a rare (granted I can see a one-sided wrath with a huge body is easily limited-wrecking, but still...)
At least the three of them curve into each other, although I wish Verdant costed 5 and this costed 7 so that they curve into Gishath, Sun's Avatar (who in my fantasy-land is an 8/8 so all the Sun's Avatars have CMC = P/T)...
It feels underwhelming, I want it to do more, trample or can't be blocked by low power creatures would have been a nice added bonus
Why would it be necessary? It literally kills everything that isn't a dino.
I think you're right, it doesn't need more, but it also feels like stuck in the hand until surging ahead to win. Triple white isn't a joke.
I keep thinking, assuming you are ramping to payoff dinos, as Kinjalli's Sunwing is the only cheap dino in white, and that you'll be at least GW or the pushed Naya, that aren't Carnage Tyrant, Burning Sun's Avatar (also triple ouch), and Gishath, Sun's Avatar direct competition for the finisher spot. It just feels like there needs to be a dino that ramps you in some way, maybe we haven't seen it yet. (aside from card draw)
This guys effect doesn't trigger off of Gishath, Sun's Avatar effect
Powerful one sided board wipe for dino decks though.
I'm sure I'll be facing off against one of these in the prerelease though. I hope I have removal lol.

I think it's more likely that there will be non-Dino mana dorks in this set (or the next).
Another mothership spoiler from today.
I am surprised because this is the first creature in blue with such stats and cost since forever, technical reprint of Rotted Hulk or Dutiful Servants.
Literally a one sided board wipe if you're playing dino tribal
Everyone on this thread: "But why doesn't it have [insert keyword here]??"
Are you guys freaking serious
It does nothing after you have cast it. Now the opponents 1/1 tokens can just block it here and there. It´s a mighty beast, at least give it trample (Yes write don´t get trample often i know)
Wow, if that isn't the bulkiest mythic I've seen in a long, long time. It's pretty safe to say that this set's power level isn't one of its selling points. Oh wait, I forgot, it's pirates and dinosaurs, because that's all people need to brand this as the new best set ever.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.

It's a little to early to say that the Sunwing is the only cheap dino in white. We still have over half the set to go.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).

I'd argue that Odric is a special case, but Akroma is a very compelling argument.
Still, I'd prioritize a "whiter" keyword ability like first/double strike or vigilance over trample, if I was given the choice.

the turd white mythic no one wants to open but everyone will at a seemingly higher rate than all others

Some don't like that it does basically nothing when it's cheated in with Gishath.

Today: "This overcosted mythic is unplayable!"
excluding the people who want to do dinosaur tribal ofcoarse.
This, exactly this.
Give us playable commons and garbage mythic all day, every day.
If I have learned anything reading these forums its that every card will be played in commander.
