Wait so planeswalkers can enter Ixalan but they can't leave? Can we just stay on Ixalan? Like forever?
That would be very meta, but unfortunately whatever is at Orazca might hold the key to leaving the plane.
that's my guess
when they say "no one has ever returned"
i'm betting it's because they are essentially PW'd to another place
not because they are dead
which, if true, would be a clever take on the whole "explore the building no one has ever returned from" trope
Hmm, Return to Dominaria is next right? Orazca contains a Phyrexian Planar portal that leads to Dominaria, and is Malfunctioning an interfering with Planeswalking and only goes one way.
What happens when a planeswalker tries to p-walk and can't? For some reason, I can't get the idea out of my head that it's like Apparating from Harry Potter and failure is like splinching.

I think it was stated somewhere that Huatli, the native planeswalker, saw visions and ideas of other worlds and maybe the Blind Eternities when she sparked, but wasn't actually transported anywhere (the same happened to Rashmi while she used the control panel of her planar portal in Kaladesh).

I bet one heck of a headache at least...I wonder if this Binding is old enough to have effected an old Walker..or if it is an effect of the mending?

Possibly, but I doubt we'll know for some time.
The "Immortal Sun", which has been mentioned as an important relic in Orazca, might actually be the nexus of a plane-wide enchantment similar to the original Guildpact or the defense system Sorin weaved into Avacyn and the Helvault. /speculation
I doubt we are ever going to know because the focus is going to be on the generic boring crap of the plane as opposed to the things that have real impact on the overall plot of the multiverse.
So today a bigger version of this card's art was used in the newest Magic Story.
And it made me realize something.
...an Azorius sigil?
Was Azor on Ixalan and was he the one that barred the door?

What's the most resilient parasite? An idea.
A single idea from the human mind can build cities.
An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules...
Looks like Jace is Totally Lost!
This card will be really solid in draft.
Interested to see where the story goes from here. Somehow, Jace will have to figure out a way out of there. I'm guessing Nicol Bolas sent him there specifically so that he wouldn't have to deal with him anymore.
Didn't Jace planeswalk himself? I could have sworn that he just wanted to go anywhere so Bolas wouldn't completely destroy his mental state.
Or Bolas "made" him want to go to Ixalan because, let's be honest, how often do minion's underlings actually succeed when sent on missions like Vraska's?
