Well, he does mildly amusing stuff with Doubling Season, but I still don't think I'd run him in superfriends.
Midly amusing? He would create an infinite amount of 2/2's when he hits the field. That's game winning.
Infinite non-hasty 2/2s that have to survive a turn to win the game. Hence, mildly interesting. Trust me, you pull that in a multiplayer Commander game, and someone is going to board wipe. Not to mention, he's pretty lame if you don't have Doubling Season out. And his plus ability kinda sucks. the more I think about him, the less I like him.
You'd still have infinite Jaces though, too. So unless they take out the Doubling Season, or the board wipe hits 'walkers as well, you can just try again next turn. And every subsequent turn, until it sticks.
From the revised article on Ixalan mechanics, re: using PW's as Commanders:
Starting with this set, all planeswalkers past, present, and future will have the supertype legendary. They will also be subject to the "legend rule." The "planeswalker uniqueness rule" is going away. What does this mean? In short, everything that's true about legendary permanents will now be true about legendary planeswalkers. Also note that this does not mean legendary planeswalkers can be your Commander unless an ability says so.
Thalia's Lancers and Captain Sisay just got way better. Too bad Jace's ultimate doesn't create copies of any target planeswalker, though.
I like how this allows planeswalkers to work with my Irides design without specifically calling out planeswalkers. And now my Origins 5 decklists can comfortably include multiple cards for the same PW.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Will this elimination of the uniqueness rule spike the price of planeswalkers? One of the reasons on avoiding playing many versions in a deck (EDH, at least) is that rule. But now the demand for planeswalkers can be greater than before.

hunt down your captain sisay's, mirror gallery's, empress galina's, thalia's lancers and yomiji's before it's too late.
aaaaand too late
Yep
But the lancers and yomiji are the only ones not hit
The lancers are still being printed
And yomiji is not only a high CMC and has to be white it's a group hug card
Not nearly as bad as me having a chance to get a Wanderine Prophets last week for $1.50 before the decks hit and I forgot because I was busy buying cards for Silas Renn. Now my Merfolk deck is dead in the water over a card I took for granted

It's a instatanious infinite turns with inalla ofcoarse it got a 99% jump in price ($1 to $10)
When does teh rules change take effect? I want to grab another mirror gallery before a spike in price.
I also need to get a captain sisay for my EDH PW deck.
As with most rules change announced in spoiler season, the rules change should go into affect once the new set has actually been released. So that would be 29th September, if I'm remembering the date right.
Of course with how quickly markets fluctuate, there is probably already been a price spike.

Or you know, just Time Warp.
I mean, yes, but my point was that, even without anything else, the combo isn't stopped by a single Wrath of God. Like with any combo, the more you have to protect/enhance/speed up the combo, the harder it is for your opponents to avoid dying to it. But in this case, the combo, even at its most bare-bones, requires a Planar Cleansing to stop, which is not bad for a two-card combo.

I agree. That said, I think we should remember this is a combo with Doubling Season. It makes like everything a two card combo lol This is a unique twist on one though.

I'm probably going to be one of those guys and err on caution buying into any new interactive cards. We have no idea what wizards is going to choose to ban come October and whenever they do a rules change like this, stuff is going to get axed. Also, given that Untaidake, the Cloud Keeper is a ramp card that can now hit planeswalkers, that may give Tron a bit of a boost. Yes it comes into play tapped, but given it is another mana accelerator that can also be used in conjunction with the Urza lands to power out Karn, Liberated, any Eldrazi Titan, and other massive legendaries...

Sure, but it's a legendary land that comes into play tapped that can only make mana for legendaries and costs 2 life every time you use it. The card is going to be unplayable even with the changes.

Guess this rules change is good for my Superfriends EDH deck. I can feel less bad about having 3 different Jace in the deck now.
