Looks like a fun, sort of newish take on Jace, who seems to have lost some clothes as well!
ALSO, NEW PLANESWALKER RULES
Well check out that fancy new type line! Legendary Planeswalker — Jace. You must have many questions. Let's pec away at them.
Starting with this set, all planeswalkers past, present, and future will have the supertype legendary. They will also be subject to the "legend rule." The "planeswalker uniqueness rule" is going away. What does this mean? In short, everything that's true about legendary creatures will now be true about legendary planeswalkers.
Under the new rules, if a player controls more than one legendary planeswalker with the same name, that player chooses one and puts the other into their owner's graveyard. This means that if you control Jace, Unraveler of Secrets and cast Jace, Cunning Castaway, both Jaces can exist under your control.
Planeswalkers will continue to have planeswalker types (Jace, Nissa, Bolas, and so on). However, those subtypes won't be used by any rule to determine what a player can retain control of. Cards like Jace's Defeat will continue to be able to refer to those subtypes.
I don't like this change, the uniqueness rule fixed one of the silly things about legends and this reintroduces it. Of course, having one fewer cornercase rule is a good thing.

That was pretty interesting. But dropping a warship on me is cheating. Take it back!
Modern might get a wee bit silly with this change for a little while, though not too bad I imagine. But at least it's a change for that format because it kinda needs one.
I took one look at this sexy ass art for my baby Jace husband and let me tell you now that my locals will be shown no mercy or grace and this game shall not know rest until I own a copy for each of my 12 EDH decks and then some. Beware.
I still don't know why they needed to add legendary to planeswalkers when they could just have just made the rule effect both without needing to put that word on the type line, but I guess now they can be searched out with a few cards.
Meh, I thought the planeswalkers weren't good for the game before. Now we get more on the field? I'm not looking forward to the broken shenanigans about to go down with this.
Glad I kept my Mirror Gallery copies btw. I'mma clone my PWs in Commander. Superfriends clone deck coming up. And Blue loves copying things and tutoring Artifacts too. Finally I can have an army of Jaces backs by mirrors and artifacts. Mono-Blue Jace Clone Superfriends on the way
Wonder if the commander rules be updated too allow all walkers to be commanders now.
I wouldn't count on it. If legendary enchantments or lands can't be commanders, the same rule should apply to planeswalkers. Even if they did want to change that rule because they represent characters, I think there're probably enough problematic planeswalkers that they'd have to ban a few, and I don't think they'd want to do that.
Paving the way to reprint a bunch of old planeswalkers with the new wording in that planeswalkers masterpiece series i'm pretending they are going to put in that dominaria set next year.

It’s the kind of action Chopin would conduct if say, he were conducting ninja warriors.

Also, now we really can make Gideon Tribal decks with the aforementioned Mirror Gallery. Run 4 of every Gideon.

Also, that Jace looks horrible.
Play old Gideons tribal with R&D's Secret Lair now that the Planeswalker rule is gone, and they don't have the legendary subtype written on.
