After the massive crash in my hype from the rare sheet spoil. I am actually rehyped for this.
The symbols they are using are strange, the 'night' side symbol makes me think these are all going to be lands. If that's the case the tropes I'm most interested in seeing is an Island Turtle, and a giant whose corpse is an Island.
Love these. Will probably need a dozen or so, as I despise flipping cards inside sleeves, so will need flipped versions as well.
Good functionality as well, so pure win all around!

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
The back of this card is amazing! They did such a great job on pretty much every aspect of this card from the flavor to the art choice. I hope to see some more things like this out of this set. I would love for them push frame styles like this onto the front side of cards. It adds so much to the card and really makes it feel unique.
So, we know there were 10 cards in set unaccounted for (the numbering on Unclaimed Territory as much as locked in 4x5=20 basic lands, and the numbering on this confirms that these cards aren't being given their own after-nonbasic-lands segment of the crunch).
With that few cards they're not likely doing rare-DFC-sheet-and-other-DFC-sheet like they did in SoI block.
So, are we thinking there's one sheet, and every pack gets a card from this sheet in a dedicated DFC slot? Likely something like 1 mythic, 2 rares, 3 uncommons, 4 commons that can appear there (and the commons and uncommons each multiple times on the sheet to preserve the usual ratios? The commons and uncommons would be overwhelmingly prevalent in limited) . Or are they going to put these on the land sheet and repurpose the basic land slot to have some packs open one of these instead of a basic land? Or are they going to do something more like what they did with Origins and, if so, all ten of these cards would likely be rares/mythics (because they would probably uniformly replace the rare card in a pack when they're inserted).
Have they told us anything yet about card distribution?
That is one of the most gorgeous lands ever. Loving the border & flavor. WotC has stepeth their gameth.
This is truly a great surprise. Even if Treasure Map was spoiled on the sheet, this DFC wouldn't have been spoiled, as the top of the sheet was shown, not the back. The thief of the sheet is a real idiot. Glad he's getting what's coming to him.
1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
I like DFCs. But I can't get rid of feeling that all these mechanics (such as raid, vehicles, treasures which is basically Gols except for tapping, and now DFC) seem to be a mix of leftovers.
I'll probably like this set and limited play though.
And need to notice: all DFC Ixalan cards will have at least one land side.
I mean, I must say I'm still impressed on how much people complain. First: DFC are a great addition to magic overall. If you don't like it, fine, it is not for you, someone else will enjoy it. All consructed magic is played with sleeves, and in sealed formats you can use the 'checkmark cards' (forgot their actual name) to a reasonable effect.
Regarding this card: I like it, but mainly because the flip bonus (netting 4 mana) and extra effect (sac treasures for draw), is pretty dope. Treasure Map itself is not quite that powerful. Also, I'm a bit bothered that 'maps' are considered artifacts. I think wizards is missing an opportunity here to create a new card-type: scroll.
Also, that back-frame is amazing. A thousand times better than all expeditions and invocations.

Would you like to read Commander stories? Check my latest stories, coming from Lorwyn and Innistrad: Ghoulcaller Gisa and Doran, The Siege Tower! If you like my writing, ask me to write something for your commander as well!
Seeing this in full foil should be very nice, I hope to pull any of these dfc lands especially foiled if they look anywhere half this cool no matter what they do.

Glad to see there are still surprises

Ixalan is a success folks. I am the nastiest, most negative critic of all and I am calling this set a home run now.

We can be fairly certain that we should be getting a black rare DFC, a red rare DFC, green rare DFC, and a green mythic DFC for color balance.

I hate these crazy flip card things.
