The dragon deck is a Reflecting Pool short of actually being kinda playable right out of the box. Although the lack of instants annoy me as a control oriented dracomancer.
The wizards deck seem to have the least value and they put in... merchant of secrets? That could have been another more worthwhile card. Also, no Teferi. I also realized in retrospect that teferi's protection is of course not part of the wizards deck. Also funny that the a deck has both greaves and boots.
For some reason, I'm not excited. Maybe I'll get the wizards deck anyway.

Yeah. The wizard deck seems like it doesn't really have a way to win right out of the box. It really could use a few less odd legendaries (Original Niv-Mizzet and Nin the Pain Artist being the two that stick out the most to me), some way to untap your wizards so you can use their abilities more than once per turn, and maybe some way to ensure your wizards can get into the red zone when they need to.
For the first time since the Commander sets launched (besides year 1) I can't buy every deck, and I'm kinda sad I can't. All of these decks look fun to play out of the box, but, i'm glad the one I chose was the Cat deck, as it has most of the stuff I want for both new cards and reprints. The second deck I like the most is the Vampires, then Dragons, then Wizards.
Only downside to the cat deck is it could have been a good spot for a few P3K reprints of Cats that are around 12ish a piece right now, and will probably jump up more after a lack of reprinting. Also Brimaz. But, I'm glad I chose the Cat deck now. Lots of good stuff, and easily the best mana base of the 4 decks (Makes sense, it's only 2 colors)
Yeah no riptide is pretty bad. Olivia was reprinted in mm2017 though.
OMG people want 30 bucks for a freaking riptide laboratory?! It's not even necessary for wizards decks. I'm not paying fetchland prices for that thing.
1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
I feel absolute sorrow for Dragons with that manabase, could at least given them Ancient Ziggurat.
Hell, all mana bases suck much more than usual except Cats with their TWO fetchlands and manland. It's the second time they reprint Grasslands but they just won't reprint Bad River.
I'm really disappointed with this. So much so that I actually canceled a preorder at $99 for the lot.
I wanted to get them for a group of people who are just starting to get into Magic because I thought tribal would be fun, but these just feel clunky to me.
I really want them to take the mana bases more seriously with these products. The Dragons deck boggles the mind; 18 basics and 15 ETBT lands seems terrible in a 5 color deck. Why they couldn't reprint Reflecting Pool, Ancient Ziggurat, City of Brass, or Mana Confluence? Even a lightweight Cavern for these decks that didn't have the anti-counter ability would have gone a long way.
I've seen at least 3 posts that say "checklands would have improved the manabases", and while that's true, let's all remember that checklands are going to be in Ixalan, and while they may not be that exciting, Wizards prob doesn't want to do anything that might siphon sales, or at the very least, their printing in Ixalan was enough to preclude them here.
I am entirely surprised that Mirri the Cursed did not make it into the vampire deck, or Vampiric Dragon into either the dragon or vampire decks. Each other combination of the tribal types are represented, but not Dragon-Vampire or Cat-Vampire.
Sad about the chosen lands, would have been a perfect opportunity to reprint all the Mirage fetches (we only get Grasslands), and a few rare multicolor lands for each deck. Instead we get mostly commons and uncommons.
Other than that, seems like really solid decks, and I am glad I pre-ordered mine several weeks ago.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
I was planning on getting the Vampire and Wizard decks before today, and now I'm definitely getting the Vampire, and not touching the Wizard deck. It didn't really get any good reprints, and has no real direction.

"I hope to have such a death... lying in triumph atop the broken bodies of those who slew me..."
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Wizard deck has way to many Legends for the eminence ability and too few things to copy.
No real complaints about the Vampire deck.
Cat Deck looks like the most consistent of the lot, while vampires have the highest ceiling if you don't have fixing issues. Dragons looks slow..and Wizards doesn't seem to have any way to win or make use of it's commanders.

This will be the 8th time it's been printed.
No Patron Wizard and Arcanis doesn't have his much sweeter Duel Deck art.
I suppose we shouldn't be expecting much in terms of powerful reprints now that we get Masters sets regularly.

Worse...it senergizes with the deck since the commanders abilities involve ETB wizards and it bounces the wizards back.
And why in the world is it a $21 dollar land it only works with one tribe. And it taps for colorless

Literally only $21 because the C17 designers all have parents who are cousins that also don't know which reprints should have been included.
It was $5 this morning before the decklists were spoiled. How do I know? I tried to buy some and they sold out as I was going through checkout.
